What a brilliant morning it was at the Derby Property Summit 2024, where a capacity audience of 300-plus delegates, including business leaders, key decision-makers and investors from across the region and beyond, learned about the exciting future that lies ahead for Derby. Highly respected speakers Samantha McClary, editor of EG and Ojay McDonald, chief executive of the Association of Town & City Management Management, gave invaluable insights into the current market trends, while Robert Bence and Rob Dix, from The Property Hub podcast, spelled out why Derby is seen as a UK investment hotspot. We also heard from our leaders - Claire Ward, Mayor of the East Midlands, and Councillor Nadine Peatfield, leader of Derby City Council – who set out their hopes and visions for the city and region. And a dynamic panel – made up of Tammy Whitaker, of Derby City Council, James Dickens, of Wavensmere Homes, Paul Morris, of St James Securities Limited, Graham Lambert, of VINCI UK Developments Limited, Stephen Parry, of Ion Property Developments Limited, Atish Parmar, of Cavendish & London Property Group Group and Danielle Upton, of Smith Partnership – brilliantly set out the case for investing in Derby. The whole event was expertly chaired by respected business journalist Declan Curry. Marketing Derby would like to say a huge thank you to the property summit’s headline partner Smith Partnership, associate partner AtkinsRéalis and brand partners Compendium Living, Willmott Dixon, Ion Property Developments Limited and VINCI UK Developments Limited. Special thanks also go to our hosts Reach Events and caterers Butler's Pantry. An in-depth briefing on this year’s Derby Property Summit will be included in a special news bulletin, which will be published on Friday. To receive it, sign up to our Invest in Derby news bulletins here https://lnkd.in/e2w6_5-D.

“We have to think very carefully about how we ensure that everybody in our country has access to the things that they need, when they need them, at a price that they can afford.” Hear from the Dean of Loughborough Business School, Professor Janet Godsell, and Chief Executive of Midlands Engine, Roger Mendonca, about the importance of our new UK Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) Centre. We will be bringing together key stakeholders from across the supply chain sector to develop the first and only UK centre within the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Global SCALE Network. Leveraging our expertise in the circular economy and digitalisation, we want to help revolutionise the future of supply chain thinking and practice to build a better, more sustainable world for everyone. #ProgressWithPurpose
