Waterman Group reposted this
College Square is progressing at a rapid pace! Check out this video by Nicholas Grundy for a great view of the site.
Last week, the GLF team installed the final unitised curtain wall panel at College Square Residential Tower. GLF colleagues visited site to view the final piece of the jigsaw slotting perfectly into place. Having completed the Commercial Block last year, this completes the unitised curtain wall installation of the façade to the tallest habitable building on the Dublin skyline. All that is left is the high-level terracotta cladding to finish off. The intrepid Nick Grundy has been filming the installation from every angle ! The tower features GLF ECO90 unitised curtain wall units with integrated Wicona Wicslide 150PS Sliding Doors and Juliet Balconies. This bespoke solution has been fully tested, and is ideal for high-rise residential projects. Contact us – sales@glf.ie GLF are delighted and proud to be part of the team delivering this project. Major milestone reached! iQ Student Accommodation's new development on Echo Street in Manchester topped out with its tallest tower at 81 metres above street level. We’re so proud to be part of the project team for this exciting scheme which will become a key asset to Manchester’s thriving student community and world-class education hub. Congratulations to all involved in the project team!
We're thrilled to announce that the construction of iQ Student Accommodation's new development on Echo Street in Manchester has reached a major milestone with the topping out of the tallest tower at 81 metres above street level. The Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) project will offer 1,224 beds across three stunning buildings, ranging from 16 to 28 storeys. The property is situated at the gateway to Piccadilly, alongside Vimto Park, offering students a range of exceptional amenities. The development has a core focus on sustainability, aiming for a BREEAM Excellent rating. Sustainable construction methods, waste reduction, and the use of local supply chains have been key components, alongside the installation of renewable energy sources for long-term operation. Matt Merrick, CEO and Matt Loughlin, Chief Development Officer of iQ, joined the Bowmer + Kirkland team and the scheme's architect, Sheppard Robson to celebrate the progress and collaborative spirit of this project. Regional Director for B+K Paul Sykes and Senior Contracts Manager, Mark Lambkin presented the iQ executive team each with engraved commemorative trowels to mark the occasion. B+K's Paul Sykes, said: “This new development is the first time that Bowmer + Kirkland has worked with iQ Student Accommodation and we’ve been delighted with the collaborative approach across the whole client and consultant team. From the initial pre-contract engagement, contract award and on-going construction a “one team” approach has been taken which has been instrumental in the successful delivery of the project so far. The scheme is on schedule to be delivered on-time and on budget”. iQ's Matt Loughlin said: “This milestone signifies the tremendous progress we have made on this flagship Manchester development and we are grateful to everyone involved in the project for their commitment to get us here today. Manchester is one of the most popular student cities in the country, and this property, just a stone’s throw away from Manchester’s renowned universities, will provide them with the high-quality, well-located accommodation they need. We can’t wait to welcome students here and are confident they will enjoy its impressive views of the Manchester skyline and outstanding rooms and amenities.” iQ Student Accommodation Sheppard Robson Civic Engineers Cumming Group Waterman Group #construction #PBSA #purposebuiltstudentaccomodation #sustainability #studenthousing #BREEAM #uniofmanchester #manchestermetuni #toppingout #manchester #webuild
