I am an In-Network provider with BlueCross BlueShield (MS and AHS), United Healthcare/UMR/Optum, and Aetna. I offer both in-office and virtual counseling services in a live video format. Common focuses of my practice include improving management of anxious and depressed mood, as well as processing any previous experiences of potential trauma.

I have 20 years of experience working with individuals, marriages and families on some everyday issues that have quick solutions as well as some complex, long-term problems that require in-depth therapy. I have extensive training in the leading approaches in psychotherapy and have learned the tricks of the trade from the most respected names in the field. I use a comprehensive approach of therapy and psychological assessment in my practice.

Only one thing is certain....Change. But change is hard, no matter where it comes from. Unexpected changes like breakups, injuries, tragic news, and traumatic events can cause emotional struggles, anger and anxiety. You may feel that you don't know who to trust, where to go, or what to feel. Expected changes in life can also be difficult. Having children, dealing with death, divorce, life or aging transitions, or job changes, can also be difficult. Finally, sometimes we desire change, but don't know how to get there! I have worked in the field of counseling for approximately 30 years, working in a variety of settings - inpatient, outpatient, acute care, Intensive outpatient, and residential treatment. I feel having a positive, compassionate approach to each individual session provides hope and empowerment to make the necessary changes to improve one's life. Learning how to implement coping strategies in situations can alter the clients perspective in seeing opportunities for growth and self-efficacy.

Dr. Kinman is accepting new assessment and therapy clients in August 2024. Dr. Kinman is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Mississippi and Tennessee. Her office is located in Oxford, MS. She offers in-person and telehealth sessions. She specializes in evidence-based therapy, mainly cognitive behavioral therapy. Dr. Kinman treats children, adolescents, and adults. In practice, she emphasizes mindfulness, communication skills, and insight into personal values and meaning. She collaborates with each individual client, tailoring her therapeutic approach to highlight their personal strengths and values.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. i have spent the past 7 years working with adolescent males struggling with depression, defiance, poor impulse control, boundary issues dealing with sexual perpetration, poor anger management, bullying behaviors, drug addiction, video game addiction, self-injurious behaviors, suicidal ideation, PTSD, grief, and attachment issues. My goal is to help them learn how to eliminate their abusive interactions and manage their emotions in a healthier manner through respectful communication and social interactions.

I work with adolescent girls and adult women (ages 15+) facing issues related to self-esteem, stress, anxiety, and depression. I help women gain self-knowledge in a safe, supportive environment in order to become unstuck and begin growing into the healthiest version of themselves, ultimately leading to fulfilling lives, including harmonious relationships.
