☀️It’s all systems go as our team progresses TasWater’s Selfs Point Sewer Transformation Project in Hobart, Tasmania.☀️ CPB Contractors, alongside fellow CIMIC Group Limited UGL and with support from WSP in Australia, together with TasWater, as part of the TasWater Alliance, have commenced construction of a new 4.3 km pipeline between Macquarie Point, near Constitution Dock in Hobart, and Selfs Point. Once complete, it will transport raw materials to the upgraded Selfs Point Sewerage Treatment Plant. The plant will treat up to 25 megalitres of wastewater every day and will reduce nitrogen and phosphorus entering the Derwent River by 50 per cent. Construction in this area will continue throughout 2025, and we are sure our team will enjoy working in such a picturesque location #CheckOutTheView. When the Department of Corrections NZ’s Waikeria Prison Expansion project in New Zealand opens, its new on-site health spaces will become a restitution facility first in Aotearoa. Delivered by our CPB Contractors team, works on this project include the introduction of dedicated spaces for mental health and addiction support and on-site medical facilities. These new areas give prisoners immediate access to a range of services that would have previously required clinic or hospital visits, such as regular dialysis. CPB Contractors’ construction of the Waikeria Prison Development Project included the delivery of a 600-bed high-security prison with 100 beds in a purpose-built Mental Health and Addiction Service Facility, as part of a PPP alongside fellow CIMIC Group Limited company, Pacific Partnerships. 💥Now, this is what sustainable #CommunityEngagement looks like!💥 Iconic in shape and name, our CPB Contractors team has transformed a 1974 Volkswagen Kombi Campervan into a fully electric mobile information centre, which is being used at community events and public spaces by the project team delivering Transport for NSW’s Warringah Freeway Upgrade project in Sydney. The Kombi was originally equipped with a petrol engine and had an average fuel consumption of 15.5l per 100km, resulting in approximately 36kg of CO2 emissions per 100km travelled. Today, after an ambitious conversion project led by CPB Contractors Plant Manager Wade Rogan, this same Kombi now produces zero emissions thanks to its cutting-edge electric motor and six 9.3kWh battery packs. This Kombi is a real-life example of how community and sustainability can intersect and deliver fantastic outcomes. Shout out to the entire CPB Contractors team behind it, who collaborated so innovatively to bring it to life!
