🎉 2025 has certainly started with a bang! 🎉 We have certainly been kept on our toes and it’s been an exciting start to the year at Eden, and we’re thrilled to share some key highlights: 1️⃣ We’ve welcomed back Olivia Pemberton MRTPI Pemberton to the team! 🙌 Her expertise, passion, and energy have always been invaluable, and we’re so excited to have her back on board as we continue to grow and achieve new milestones in 2025! 2️⃣ The Eden team has submitted a proposal for Watson - a 40-unit housing development in Accrington, in collaboration with TADW Architects. This much-needed project will deliver 32 houses and 8 cottage flats, all within walking distance of the town centre. 🏡 https://lnkd.in/dAi_AEX4 3️⃣ A significant milestone was reached last week at Wirral Waters with the Practical Completion of the Millers Quay scheme, on the forecast date - a great achievement for everyone involved! 🎉 4️⃣ Study tour planning for Copenhagen 2025 has officially kicked off at Eden HQ! 🌍 We’re excited and any recommendations would be much appreciated! 5️⃣ And of course, we’re toasting a cracking start to the year with our brand-new Eden merch - because what better way to celebrate than in style? 🍻 Here’s to a year filled with progress, exciting projects, and new opportunities. We have started work on a new scheme of 15 one-bedroom apartments for young people at risk of homelessness, with personalised support to help them on the path to living independently from our Jigsaw Support teams - in partnership with Oldham Council with R.P. Policy compliant planning applications to “by-pass” planning committee. Unlike some commentators, I don’t think this step would ignore communities. Objections, support (some do submit letters of support!) and general comments are all balanced within a Local Planning Authorties decision; delegated or committee decision. Delegated decisions do not simply ignore these views. It is questionable what value a planning committee has if a development is policy compliant. The move seems to be a sensible and pragmatic one.
