We love to wrap up the year with our traditional Our Studio Ltd cgi competition, always looking to bring in an external judge working in the built environment or creative industry. Getting a fresh perspective on what makes a cgi successful keeps the competition interesting and enjoyable for the team. This year we were excited to have the wonderful Thom Hetherington as our judge. Thom is founder of Manchester Art Fair, who's vast experience in arts, culture, food & drinks covers everything from tenant mix to public installations and audience activation. Thom has become one of the leading cultural figures in the region and was named ‘Cultural Icon’ in the Manchester Evening News City Life awards 2016. The winning cgi and projects for 2024 were: - Best Exterior CGI - Winner: Goods Station for Select Property / Runner up Whitworth St West for Glenbrook - Best Interior CGI - Winner bid project / Runner up for Plumlife Homes Our best Animation and Storytelling awards were for a project not yet released but watch this space and hopefully we can reveal more next year. Our Studio have produced the Verified Views and Marketing CGI to support the recent planning submission for Vita's Good Station. Birmingham's Axis Square site has been vacant for years and regeneration specialists Vita Group have carefully shaped its proposals with extensive engagement with the local community over the last two years. The Good Station masterplan will consist of five new buildings designed by award winning architect SimpsonHaugh, set around a new urban garden which establishes a fully accessible route from Navigation Street to Holliday Street. The masterplan would deliver 990 new homes and a 221-room serviced apartment building . Vita's House of Social brand consisting of a public food hall will also create opportunities for Birmingham's emerging foodscene giving independent kitchens the opportunity to showcase their culinary concepts. The construction phase is expected to create circa 485 jobs in the West Midlands and would contribute circa £245M to the local economy. If the plans are successful, Vita Group will look to break ground in the Autumn of 2025. It's been a pleasure working on the marketing cgi for Glenbrook's latest vision and landmark development located in the heart of Manchester at Whitworth Street West. Beautifully designed by award winning Architect Sheppard Robson, the building draws inspiration from Manchester’s rich heritage showcasing design elements such as the triple-height arched terracotta colonnade. Over 7,750sq ft of amenity space will be provided across three floors including external balconies offering exceptional views across the city. The tower will deliver 364 homes over 44 storeys providing residents with ‘on the doorstep’ access to Manchester’s world class cultural attractions. Capital&Centric's Littlewoods Project has been given the greenlight! C&C wil transform the iconic former Littlewoods building into a new, world-class film and TV campus as well as rebuild the historic clock tower. Another ambitious C&C vision, Littlewoods will include two new 20,000 sq.ft studios for big budget productions, as well as spaces for offices, workshops, studio support facilities and an education facility with architects shedkm leading the design. Landscape architects Planit will be delivering the landscape plan which will include an outdoor screening and performance space. The Our Studio team have been involved with the project for over 6 years producing planning, marketing cgi and an animation to also support funding and investment. This will truly be an exciting project not just for Liverpool but all of the North West, creating thousands of jobs in the creative industries and new opportunities for future generations. We've worked closely with the Marketing and Sales team at Bruntwood SciTech to create the marketing cgi and animation for Pall Mall - A sustainability-led workspace for the socially conscious on Manchester's prestigious King Street. Interiors have been beautifully designed by the team at Sheppard Robson working to high and sustainable specification. Pall Mall is about flexibility, blending work and lifestyle. It will offer a new product that combines rent, electricity, service charge and insurance into a single cost which remains fixed with no hidden fees. Huge congrats to our client Progressive Living Developments and BDP (Building Design Partnership Ltd) on getting the green light for Salford's first ever co-living development. Located on Gorton Street within the Greengate regeneration area, the co-living complex would rise to 41 storeys and provide units ranging from 226 sq ft to 376 sq ft. While units in co-living developments are smaller than apartments in build-to-rent projects, the trade-off is lower rents and a focus on creating a sense of community, encouraging residents to mingle in the communal spaces. The co-living towers will add to the much needed living options for young professionals in a growing and dynamic city. Our Studio Ltd have been involved with the development pre-pandemic producing Verified Views and Marketing CGI for the site and we're excited to see this modern concept to living coming to Salford. The Transformation of the nearby railway arches into food and beverage offerings is part of Progressive Living’s wider plans for the site. Turley were the planning consultants on the scheme.
