Health care teams dedicate their time, energy, and effort to each shift, always putting their patients' needs first. Because of this, they may not always prioritize their own well-being. Leave a message of encouragement in the comments.

Access to sufficient, secure, and nutrient-rich food for people in underserved communities is not always available — and climate change is making it worse. Project HOPE has responded in various regions in Afar, Amhara, Oromia, and Tigray to provide health and nutritional support through Mobile Health and Nutrition Teams (MHNTs) to deliver emergency nutritional assistance to people who were unable to access nutritional food.

With heavy hearts, Project HOPE mourns the passing of our dear friend, colleague, and board director, Dr. Gail R. Wilensky. Gail dedicated her life to advancing health care reform and significantly contributed to public health policy. She selflessly gave more than 40 years of her career to Project HOPE as a health economist and senior fellow. Gail’s legacy will continue to inspire and guide future generations in health care reform. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and the countless individuals whose lives she touched. Her family is in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. https://lnkd.in/gEd9eKRV

Empowering Midwives in Klaten: A Success Story Yayasan Project HOPE is thrilled to share the outstanding results of our recent PINTAR Midwives Training in Klaten District! Building on the success of our previous four trainings in this district, these two new batches, held from June 24-27, focused on maternal mental health and were the first to be registered through the innovative Plataran Sehat platform. The impact was undeniable: a remarkable 91.5% increase in knowledge across all 60 participants, with every single midwife in these two batches demonstrating significant improvement. These results highlight the effectiveness of our training program and the dedication of the midwives to enhancing their skills. But it's not just about the numbers. The passion and enthusiasm displayed by the midwives throughout the training were truly inspiring. Their commitment to providing exceptional care for mothers and babies in Klaten is at the heart of Yayasan Project HOPE's mission. We extend our deepest gratitude to our partners at the Klaten District Health Office, IBI Klaten, the PELOPOR Midwives who were involved from the beginning in developing the training materials, organizing and delivering the training, Dr. dr. Warih Andan Puspitosari, M.Kes., Sp.KJ(K) as the expert trainer, and Plataran Sehat for their invaluable support in making this training a resounding success. This event was made possible with support from Give2Asia, Johnson & Johnson Foundation, and Project HOPE. A special thanks to the YPH team for their hard work and dedication: Dimas T., avie adriansyah, Noovy Sahetapy, Herry Sunardjo, Christine Batubara, Dimiyati, Tiurmaida Silitonga, Hana Hutabarat, and andi P. Prawisuda. Stay connected with Yayasan Project HOPE as we continue to empower midwives and champion maternal mental health across Indonesia! #YayasanProjectHOPE #MaternalMentalHealth #Midwives #Klaten #Indonesia

Carina left home when her family started going hungry. 20 and pregnant, she and her twin boys recently migrated to Colombia from Isla de Margarita, Venezuela. Together, they traveled by boat, foot, train, and strangers’ trucks to make it to Cúcuta, Colombia, where they reunited with her husband who arrived first to find work. Shortly after arriving in Colombia, Carina found prenatal care through a local organization, Corporación Mujer, Denuncia y Muévete (CMDYM), supported by Project HOPE. CMDYM brings Venezuelan women together in prenatal workshops to teach them essential health knowledge, like prenatal nutrition and mental health. Amid skyrocketing inflation, political instability, and sometimes violence, more and more Venezuelans are braving the journey to other countries, including the United States, and Project HOPE is working closely with local partners to support them along the way.

As our planet warms, water-borne diseases are on the rise. Floods spread contamination, droughts concentrate pathogens, and warmer waters breed bacteria. Our changing climate isn't just an environmental issue—it's a major public health threat. Together, we can raise awareness and push for solutions that address both climate change and water safety. What actions will you take today?

Today, Ukraine was hit by devastating Russian missile strikes, killing at least 22 civilians and damaging Ohmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv where search and rescue operations are ongoing.   These attacks have impacted multiple cities where Project HOPE operates, including Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kramatorsk.   Our team members who have provided crucial medical support, mental health services, and humanitarian aid across Ukraine are safe and are continuing to work in coordination with our partners to understand how we can best support impacted communities.
