About us
Henry J Lyons Architects is an Irish architectural practice based in Dublin City Centre. Our studios are located on Pearse Street, Dublin 2 and at Alberts Quay in Cork. We have a team of over 280 architects, designers and support staff who work on building projects throughout Ireland and Worldwide.
Our work includes architecture, interior design, masterplanning and conservation projects. We also provide consultancy services to assist our clients navigate through the highly regulated environment in which buildings are created.
Our practice, over the last 100 years, has gained an in-depth working knowledge of many building types including workplace, civic, educational, urban regeneration, science/technology, health, residential, hospitality, leisure and retail projects.
The practice’s work is structured and research based, and is also characterised by a very high level of collaboration with our clients. Our in-house design teams work closely with specialist disciplines to create buildings and places that aspire to be unique and uplifting to both the end users and the public.
The quality of our work has been recognised by multiple awards from the design community and the construction industry, and the level of service we provide is reflected in the number of clients who return to us.

Waterfront | Citi | January 2025
We are delighted to share our latest progress update at our Waterfront site where we are building Citi’s new building. Level Six is now structurally complete, while construction is well underway between Levels Seven and Eight. The façade installation has commenced and great progress is being achieved, as can be seen in the video below. Redevelopment of this historical site in Dublin Docklands will deliver a 450k sq. ft. GIA Grade A office block for Citi which will be Triple Platinum – LEED, WELL and WiredScore. The next phases on the site will include two commercial blocks totalling 373k sq. ft. GIA Grade A office space as well as a large-scale residential development of 550 units, which will be expertly managed by RGRE’s operational platform Libra Living. Ronan Group has earned a reputation for being the number one provider of headquarter buildings for some of Dublin’s largest international employers, having already built the HQs of Amazon, Salesforce, Meta (Facebook), Vodafone and PwC Ireland. Last week, we hosted our first Arka Works Ltd Engagement Workshop of the year as part of our AI journey in 2025. The workshop was an opportunity to build on our existing AI integration in the practice. We discussed the purpose and goals of our AI policy, looked at how to address sustainability and energy usage, and explored ways to strengthen security and privacy measures. We also began developing guardrails to encourage experimentation and identified activities where AI can add even more value while upholding our high standards of quality and design. Always sad to see a great colleague move on, but we’re wishing Darren Williams all the best as he starts an exciting new chapter across the water, joining Gensler in the UK. Darren has been an invaluable part of our team over the past five years, contributing so much to our projects and bringing great energy & vibes to the practice.
After 5 truly unforgettable years, my time at Henry J Lyons Architects came to an end yesterday. It’s hard to believe how quickly the time has gone! Having started in HJL straight out of collage, I’ve been lucky enough to have worked at a practice which has provided me with such a varied project experience - everything from Data Centres and Offices to Civic Buildings and Large Scale Residential Developments. I’ve had the privilege of working with not only some amazing clients but also alongside some of the most talented and supportive people within the construction industry. I am truly grateful for the opportunities, lesson and friendships I’ve managed to gain over my time in HJL. I will be stepping into a new role in the coming weeks but wanted to take a moment to thank all those at Henry J Lyons Architects that have made the past 5 years so memorable. It’s been a privilege to grow and contribute to such meaningful projects. A heartfelt thank you, here’s to the next chapter ✌🏻
