Last week, our London team enjoyed a walk around the White City area of London where we have delivered numerous projects. 🏢 This included White City Living, one of the largest and most significant residential projects in London, where we successfully delivered civil engineering for the masterplan and public realm (a SuSDrain award-winning space that links the residents to the adjacent Westfield Shopping Centre) as well as structural engineering services for the first phase. The walk concluded at Imperial White City North Campus (IWCNC) where we delivered the initial masterplan and numerous individual projects (including civil, structural and geo-engineering for 5 of the 7 blocks) for Imperial College London. Over the past decade, Curtins has contributed to more than 250 projects for Imperial across various sectors including research, life sciences, student accommodation, and sports centres. A standout moment for us as working on the IWCNC has been working on the Sir Michael Uren Hub, the university's largest project since the 1960s. Tom Leake, our London Director, led the tour, sharing his firsthand experience. He was joined by former employee John Cane, who visited the nearly completed sites having made a considerable contribution to the growth of the London office and securing our start in these projects, some more than 10 years ago. #WeAreCurtins #MakingADifference #WhiteCityLondon #ImperialCollegeLondon #Residetial #HigherEducation

👏 The launch of ONE SeedPod celebrated the individuals and organisations who helped to turn an idea and an opportunity into a beacon of ambition and confidence for the region’s future. 🤝 The ONE Food, Drink & Agriculture and Food Hub (NES) boards played key roles, alongside colleagues at University of Aberdeen, Robert Gordon University, SRUC, Aberdeenshire Council and Scotland Food & Drink. Opportunity North East Limited committed revenue and capital funding with the UK government and The Scottish Government providing capital through the Aberdeen City Region Deal, supported throughout by colleagues in Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council. Scottish Enterprise and the Just Transition fund joined with further funding and SRUC provided the serviced site and is contributing to key posts within ONE SeedPod. 👷♀️ 👷♂️ 🏗️ The project team was extensive and included Turner & Townsend supporting ONE from the beginning, Keppie Design leading the design team and Robertson Group the main contractor leading the build phase. 🙏 ONE CEO Jennifer Craw MBE highlighted the significant impact of the build phase and reflected on the partnership that enabled the creation of ONE SeedPod and the ambition driving the project forward. 🌱 Throughout construction, Robertson Group ensured that the project delivered social and economic benefits. This included £6m spent with the local supply chain and close to £4m spent with local micro, small, and medium enterprises. The project hosted 11 apprentices on-site and employed 348 people. There was strong engagement with local schools and employability organisations. 💬 Jennifer said: "The region has a strong and distinct food and drink manufacturing sector—ONE SeedPod will amplify its impact regionally and nationally. "ONE SeedPod demonstrates the effectiveness of the ONE private sector leadership model and having a long-term economic vision and strategy backed by public and private funding targeting transformational projects. "As ONE chair Sir Ian Wood would say, there is always more to do and while we remember to pause today to celebrate we continue to look ahead. Together we will build the ecosystem and community to enable the current and next generation of food and drink entrepreneurs and founders to succeed. "As a partnership, we deliver. The ambition remains to realise the full potential of food and drink in this region for years and decades to come." #ONESeedPod #ABZDeal 🙏 to the project team Turner & Townsend, Robertson Group, Keppie Design, FES Group, Atelier Ten, Curtins AtkinsRéalis, SYSTRA, Ross Quality, LDA Design, TG Office Services, IFB, PCL Live AV, CMS UK, Art Department

We are honoured to be working with The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association across a number of sites around the UK & are excited that their proposed training centre at Tollgate House, adjacent the National Centre at Bishop’s Tachbrook, Leamington Spa has received planning permission. The landscape design works cohesively with the building, providing external opportunities for the training of guide dogs who will go on to positively change people’s lives. We are pleased to have been part of the wider design team of Kay Elliott Architects | MDA Consulting | Buro Happold | Box Twenty Consulting Engineers | Curtins | Luken Beck & iTransport Planning (iPRT Group) #landscapedesign #guidedogsfortheblind #raingardens #publicrealm

We joined Henry Brothers Construction and University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust to celebrate the topping out ceremony at the new Endoscopy Unit being built at Leicester General Hospital. This event marked the completion of a key stage in the construction of the specialist facility, which is strategically located adjacent to the East Midlands Planned Care Centre. As part of the site's landscaping process, a tree was planted to commemorate the occasion, symbolising growth and the long-term benefits this new facility will bring to the community. Simon Barton, Deputy Chief Executive of UHL, expressed enthusiasm for the project’s progress: “We are thrilled to celebrate this important milestone, as this new endoscopy unit represents our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality healthcare. Endoscopy plays a critical role in both diagnostics and treatment, and the new unit will ensure we continue to offer top-tier services to our patients in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.” With completion scheduled for late summer 2025, the new endoscopy unit is projected to serve approximately 17,500 patients annually once operational, further strengthening UHL’s ability to provide advanced diagnostic and treatment services.
