  • 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁: 𝟵𝟴𝟬 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱, 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱. Check out dRMM's post and Judith Stichtenoth highlighting the collaborative efforts behind Hadley Property Group's vision for a vibrant new neighbourhood in Brentford. The site’s iconic 25-year-old steel-framed building, estimated to contain 𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗹, offers an exciting opportunity for 𝗿𝗲𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, aligning with robust 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀.🌳   To echo Judith, we believe genuine partnership is key to delivering practical, sustainable, and impactful solutions that benefit both our clients and communities. We're delighted to be working with Haworth Tompkins, Studio Egret West, Metropolitan Workshop LLP, Buro Happold, McGregor Coxall, Turley and the wider design team.👏 For more information about this project, speak to Garreth Joyce.

dRMM are working with developers Hadley Property Group and masterplanners Haworth Tompkins on 980 Great West Road, the regeneration of the GSK site in Brentford, west London. The vision is to create a truly mixed-use development, an integrated live and work ‘campus’. There is an aspiration to be an exemplar of the circular economy in practice, with integration of existing buildings and structures and the re-use of materials across the site. Having recently completed our own studio retrofit with circularity at the forefront, this aligns perfectly with our thinking. As well as HT, the design team includes Studio Egret West, Metropolitan Workshop LLP, Buro Happold, McGregor Coxall, Walsh - Structural, Civil & Geotechnical Engineers and Turley. Our three plots, on the east of the masterplan, will provide creative workspace and community uses alongside well over 200 homes as part of the wider site housing ambition. The plots are adjacent to the Chiswick flyover, the area under which will create a new character area and focal point of activity for the local community as well as visitors to the area. Planning is targeted for mid 2025. Judith Stichtenoth, director, said: dRMM are excited about Hadley’s vision and sustainability aspirations for the project, especially the circular economy strategy. In addition, the prospect of activating a fairly bleak and inaccessible area under the M4 will make such a big difference to the area. The way this project is being run is such a great template for how all projects could be run, with early involvement of the whole team, contributing to big and small moves. It makes for a genuinely collaborative experience and we're really enjoying it.

We are pleased to announce the completion of our acquisition of the former GSK House in Brentford, a significant milestone in our vision for a sustainable, mixed-use neighbourhood. Having worked closely with the London Borough of Hounslow for over a year, we are preparing a planning application for submission in the second half of 2025. The proposed development will include a diverse range of new homes, commercial spaces and essential community amenities, alongside enhanced access to the adjacent park and river – areas that have been underused for over 20 years. Our design partners, Haworth TompkinsStudio Egret West, dRMM, Buro Happold, Metropolitan Workshop LLP, Walsh - Structural, Civil & Geotechnical Engineers, Turley and McGregor Coxall, are already developing a masterplan focused on long-term value, sustainability and inclusivity for the local community and future residents. Andy Portlock, Hadley CEO, said: “The acquisition of 980 Great West Road is a landmark opportunity for Hadley, Brentford, and the Borough of Hounslow. For many years, the site has been a key marker for those travelling in and out of West London, yet it hasn’t connected with the local community. Reimagining it is a responsibility we take very seriously. We are committed to delivering on our sustainability pledges and our vision to deliver genuine community-led regeneration across London. It’s an exciting time to embark on a project of this scale. The recent alignment of new homes strategy between local, city-wide, and national government provides a rare opportunity for a collaborative design and planning process which can help provide the affordable homes that London needs, at a critical time for the city.” We look forward to sharing the emerging masterplan in early 2025.
