The Shanghaî Disneyland picture of the day is the first night picture of Shanghai Disneyland castle with lighting on the castle and in the lampposts! Not sure that this kind of TOT color will be the final color for the castle lighting, they may be still in test mode.

Why do you have a regular ticket price and a peak ticket price?
This is one way we are managing the extraordinary demand we anticipate for our park in order to deliver a world-class experience for our guests. Our ticketing options could help spread out visitation throughout the year, putting choices in the hands of the guests. To avoid days with high demand, guests may want to consider visiting during our regular priced periods.

Will there be a maximum number of guests allowed in the park at one time?
Yes. Just as we do at all of our destinations around the world, we take great care to ensure a magical guest experience in our parks each day. All of our tickets will be date specific. Shanghai Disneyland will also follow all local guest capacity regulations.

Do you anticipate any changes to your pricing or ticket structure in the near future?
We will continue to evaluate our various ticket options and may in the future make adjustments. We will also continue to think about ways to manage the extraordinary demand we anticipate for our attractions and entertainment at Shanghai Disney Resort in order to deliver a world-class experience for our guests.

What is the Shanghai Disney Resort Reservation Center?
The Shanghai Disney Resort Reservation Center is a platform for guest reservation and resort experience inquiries. Beginning March 28, guests can contact the reservation center at 400-180-0000 or 86-21-31580000 to purchase theme park tickets, make resort hotel reservations or book tickets to THE LION KING production at the Walt Disney Grand Theatre in Disneytown.

D&M Exclusive: A Closer Look at the Construction of Shanghaî Disneyland Enchanted Storybook Castle

I've got a fantastic pictorial article for you today about the construction of Shanghaî Disneyland Enchanted Storybook Castle, thanks to a video posted on a Chinese news site. The news report in itself was not extremely interesting for Disney fans as they used mostly stock shots of the SDL model or Disney U.S theme parks but it included pictures from where are coming the screen captures below.

Since the last two years we've seen the castle and its towers rising little by little but many sculpted elements were created separately in the meantime, stored backstage and then added to the castle. What you'll see today is rare pictures of these elements as well as workers at work inside the castle. So, let's not wait anymore and have a look at these pics, shall we?

We'll start by a few pics of the castle as seen from outside as i know you like these shots so much. The picture at the top shows some of the castle tower and their different styles. Some have concerns about the mix of different architectural styles for this castle, and i have too. I'm still not convinced that it will" work", but i give it the benefit of the doubt until i see it in real next June. Same for the colors. My first reaction was "Bring back John Hench from his grave and ask him to redesign all the castle colors!". Let's wait for the final painting and see how it will look on opening day. The good point with painting is that they can change them later - even if "later" probably means "10 years later" when they will repaint the castle if no one is satisfied... something they can't do of course with the architecture.

And now, let's have a look at these sculpted elements, as some bring surprises.

Yes, it's some of the animals from Disney's classic animated film Bambi that you see sculpted above, and below it's the mouses from Cinderella.

On the next picture i think that we have Chip and Dale...

Note that Disney characters won't be "hidden" - if i can say as they'll be clearly visible - on each sculpted elements, like these other ones below.

Of course, all these innumerable pieces must be fixed on the castle and that's what Shanghaî Disneyland workers are doing now...

...while others take care of the final touches here and there.

Hope you enjoyed this update on the making of Shanghaî Disneyland castle, more Shanghaî Disneyland updates will come soon. Disney and more is the only Disney fan site which post Shanghaî Disneyland updates several times per week always doing the best to find for you never seen before pictures. Shanghaî Disneyland Update !

Let's start the week with a Shanghaî Disneyland article, would we? Bob Woodruff is correspondent for ABC News and is the one who did the interview of Bob Iger right at Shanghai Disneyland site last July. He posted on Instagram some amazing pics shot when he was there and these pictures gives for the first time an idea of the gigantic dimensions of Shanghaî Disneyland Enchanted Storybook Castle. In addition, i post the aerial picture above that i may have posted before but this one is in amazing quality.

Bob Woodruff is on the picture below, will you find him?

Yes, he's HERE:

Bob ( Woodruff ) and Bob ( Iger ) during the shooting of the interview at Shanghaî Disneyland site.

If you've never watched the interview, here it is!

While we are in Shanghaî three more infos: first, it was announced this morning: Shanghai launches emergency plans for Shanghai Disneyland park:

"Shanghai authorities have launched a series of emergency plans to manage the expected massive flow of visitors at Shanghai Disney. The emergency plans are expected to cover areas including crowd control procedures, rapid transit system and shuttle services, extreme weather scenarios, and other public security issues.

Zhou Xianqiang is an official from the Shanghai International Tourism and Resort Zone Administration Committee: "We have a general contingency plan in place, which centers on the control of big crowds, and we will also have a specific plan for crowd control. Along with that, we will carry out emergency drills based on what is actually needed to ensure good management."

The city will also add more subway trains on Line 11 upon the official opening of the new Disney park and traffic hours will be extended. Shanghai Disney Park in the city's Pudong District, will officially open on June 16, and is expected to host around 10 million visitors a year."

Another SDL news, and not a good one this time as Shanghaî Disneyland may face fireworks ban on polluted days...

"Fireworks are an important attraction for visitors to Disneyland, but the mega park set to open in Shanghai will have to comply with firework bans on polluted days.

An official from the city's fire department said all firework shows will be prohibited without exception when the air quality index is above 201. It was added that Shanghai has a licensing system that bans large-scale firework shows without approval.

Fan Xiping, chairman of Shanghai Shendi Group, Chinese partner of Walt Disney Co, said the theme park is located outside the Shanghai outer ring, and is therefore not normally restricted by the firework ban. However, the park will minimize the effects of spectacular pyrotechnics on the local environment and use fireworks that are the most advanced and environmentally friendly."

The last info is about the tower now in place at the entrance of Shanghaî Disney Store. As you'll see on the video below it's more than a simple decor element and there is mechanims turning inside as well as light effects. But there is more and it's small figures of Disney, Pixar and Marvel characters - see picture above - which will move around probably every 15 minutes like the ones of the It's a Small World clock. In the video we can spot Snow White, Minnie Mouse, Buzz Lightyear  but also Iron Man, the Hulk, etc...

See you soon for a new Shanghaî Disneyland update!

Shanghaî Disneyland Update : Enchanted Storybook Castle, SDL Competitor to be Build 25 Miles South of SDL...

Here is a great new Shanghaî Disneyland picture to start the week! And this one is the latest picture of SDL Enchanted Storybook Castle. As you can see scaffoldings are down almost everywhere except in the center. I just hope that they'll paint the lower part left and right because i don't really like this grey color...

On a previous digital rendering and on the castle model below all towers tops were blue too, so may be it will be the case, finally. let's hope so because it really don't look nice right now - but many be it's the picture and it looks better in real...

I've found back pictures of the castle in construction shot a few month ago. As you'll see the grey color is there but the lower turrets have grey - light blue tops, so may be it's because of the low colorimetry of the last picture on the top that they look grey.

Also, i'm curious to see the final result but personally, between the dark blue, green, pink, grey, light blue, and gold colors i think they're is seriously too many different colors on this castle...

This morning Shanghai Disneyland also announced a bit more details about the entertainment program:

"Shanghai Disneyland will feature favorite Disney characters from Snow White to Luke Skywalker, under an entertainment program announced for the upcoming park on Wednesday.

The stories of classic Disney princesses will be staged in the site's signature Enchanted Storybook Castle, said Matt Almas, the company's creative executive.

Visitors will learn to draw Marvel characters and interact with the heroes and villains of the Star Wars universe in sci-fi zone Tomorrowland.

The final carriage of Mickey's Storybook Express, a train running through the park, will be dedicated to Mulan, an animated movie depicting a female war hero of ancient China. Each carriage will be based on a different Disney film.

Visitors will also join Donald Duck and Chip'n'Dale to practice traditional Chinese martial art Tai Chi."

Now let's move south of Shanghaî as Shanghaî Disneyland can expect in a few years a competitor as the first Six Flags theme park in China will be located in Haiyan in Zhejiang province, 45 miles from downtown Shanghaî - so not far at all from Shanghaî Disneyland, probably 25 miles, see the red spot on the Google Maps below.

It will feature a number of record-breaking roller coasters, unique thrill experiences, live shows and more. Specific attractions have not yet been announced, but more information will be provided on the official site as soon as available HERE.

One of the big advantage of the park over SDL is that it will be close to the China sea - except, of course, when there will be typhoons...

As it is often the case this kind of project it will be also a big real estate operation, with marinas, etc... The ground breaking ceremony happened officially last Monday January 4 on the 30 billion yuan (USD $4.6 billion) real estate development which include this first Six Flags park in China, Six Flags Haiyan.

Look not bad on the renderings, we'll see if it looks as good once it is built!

Shanghai Disneyland Enchanted Storybook Castle Update

A short Shanghaî Disneyland update as the SDL site released two high-res digital renderings for Enchanted Storybook Castle, the first one showing the castle interior courtyard...

...and the next one is showing the restaurant, also inside the castle. Others elements show a video of the Bobiddi Boo make-up boutique but it's a video shot in the U.S , so nothing special.

As we're talking about the castle, i add this new picture shot on site and posted on Chinese social medias sites.

More Shanghaî Disneyland updates coming soon!

Shanghaî Disneyland Enchanted Storybook Castle On Fire !!!

Not specially good news from Shanghaî Disneyland as some fire happened today in SDL Enchanted Storybook Castle! No one apparently was hurt and the fire was quickly extinguished, however we don't know if the damages will create a new delay for SDL opening date... or not.

Editing 10/15: Good news: it’s apparently the bamboo scaffolding which caught fire by the SDL Storybook Castle yesterday. No damages so far were reported on the castle. Below, a new picture of the castle released on Twitter.

We'll start the week just like we ended the previous one, with new Shanghaî Disneyland pictures! And these were shots, according to the Chinese agency on October 9, so two days ago. As you'll see above and below more scaffoldings have been removed from SDL Enchanted Storybook Castle. See you soon with more SDL pictures so stay tuned on Disney and more!

Shanghaî Disneyland Update : Latest Aerial Pictures, Scaffoldings Down on Top of Enchanted Storybook Castle, and more!

Here is a great Shanghaî Disneyland update for the week-end. On the top of Enchanted Storybook Castle, scaffoldings are now down, revealing the highest towers of the castle! And the above new leaked pictures are also showing the entrance gate at the bottom as well as close-ups on the roof and the top of some towers!

Above and below, two pictures showing the towers on the top of SDL Castle.

The same folks who did the picture above have also shot this other picture on which you can see at a distance the Roaring Rapids mountain, now apparently without the scaffoldings.

Others recent pictures now, shot just one month ago with a drone, this one showing almost the whole park. Things take shape little by little and the Alice Labyrinth at the right of the castle has now part of its vegetation in place.

A vertical shot right above SDL Enchanted Storybook Castle.

This next pic is showing Shanghaî Disneyland Five Stars Hotel. Look also at the trees already in place along the road.

Another vertical shot, this time right above the Shanghaî Disneyland Hotel. Isn't it strange that the roofs are still "open"? Well, apparently not, as readers comments confirmed that hotel roofs are often "open" to leave technical access to everything installed on the top. So basically roof structures are here to hide more than to be a "real" roof.

This other picture is showing the SDL Hotel in the background, the road leading to it from Disney Town and Disney Town Spice Alley restaurants area in the foreground. But look at the bridge on the right and the path leading to the hotel. May be it's the wide angle lens but it seems to be a long walk to reach the hotel and i wouldn't like to have to walk all this road during a rainy day... Well, actually it's probably the same distance than to go from Disneyland Paris gates to the Newport Bay Hotel...

This next picture is showing Disney Town dining and shopping area in the foreground and the park in the background...

And this other shot from a drone at the vertical of Disney Town.

I'm adding two new drone pictures just found on the web, and these were shot on September 6, so two weeks ago. They're a bit grainy but that's no big problem as they're interesting because they show the resort on a totally different angle, from the other end of the lake. We can see clearly the main avenue going all around Shanghaî Disney Resort, with at the other end of the lake the SDL Hotel on the left and the park, that you can't see clearly is on the right.

Now, on both pictures you can see in the foreground, center and left, nearby the lake two unused piece of lands, and i'm ready to bet they keep them to build future hotels.

I will end with something different but highly interesting showing a very early rendering for Shanghaî Disneyland. This one is supposed to have been done many years ago and as you'll see, even if the artwork is not sharp at all, in the early design of SDL a Main Street was envisioned as well as a Frontierland with a Big Thunder Mountain in the center of the lake just like at DLP, Adventureland was on the left instead to be on the right and Tomorrowland was on the right instead than to be on the left and included a Space Mountain. And there was a train at that time going around the park which is no longer the case as we know. The picture is supposed to have been shot at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco.
