BREAKING: Disney Parks Confirms That WDW Country Bear Jamboree Show Is Here to Stay

Disney Parks has confirmed that WDW Country Bear Jamboree bears "are not going in hibernation anytime soon" and that "we’re looking forward to celebrating its 50th anniversary on Oct. 1, 2021", meaning that the show is here to stay, at least until Fall 2021 and hopefully beyond that date.

Here is Disney Parks statement: "With all of the news we’ve shared, we “fur-got” to mention our friends over at the Country Bears. Our Imagineers are always looking at ways to bring more magic to our guests through experiences and stories they know, but contrary to rumors, Country Bear Jamboree is not going into hibernation any time soon. In fact, we’re looking forward to celebrating its 50th anniversary on Oct. 1, 2021 at Walt Disney World Resort, with Henry, the Five Bear Rugs and the rest of the gang. Until then, “we hope that you’ll be comin’ back again; that you’ll drop in and see us now and then.”

Now, what happened? As you may remember the whole story started by a rumor  posted by WDWNT saying that the Country Bear Jamboree would be replaced by a Toy Story "marionette" show. I double checked that and told you in my previous article HERE that apparently there was some elements of truth in WDWNT rumor but that in fact Disney Parks had not decided yet what they'll do. Now we know, and they decided to do nothing which is the best choice they could do, in my opinion. Fans were really furious as they consider the Country Bear Jamboree to be one of the attractions which are Walt's legacy ( even if the attraction opened after Walt's death the concept by Marc Davis was approved by Walt before he passed away ) and Disney Parks probably felt that removing the Country Bears was an idea that was not worth it. Specially considering that even inside the company internal voting was over 80 percent in favor of keeping the attraction.

So, here it is, the beloved Country Bear Jamboree show will stay at WDW Magic Kingdom, and that's the real good news of the week-end.

WDW Magic Kingdom Celebrates its 45th Anniversary - 1971 LIFE Grand Opening Original Issue

Forty Five years ago, on October 1st, 1971, Walt Disney world - Walt's big dream - was opening. LIFE photographers were there and the legendary magazine did a special issue.

I've found back for you this rare original issue and here it is with, above, the LIFE memorable cover as well as the original picture from the photo shoot with 1500 WDW cast-members and characters!

The next pictures are the pages of the article itself which began with two pictures on double-pages, including a fish-eye photo of the Magic Kingdom! Click on each to see them in larger size.

The other pages were mostly showing the now unfortunately extinct Mickey Mouse Revue or the Country Bear Jamboree. The Mickey Mouse Revue went then to Tokyo Disnryland where it is also now an extinct attraction.

The LIFE issue also included an AD for WDW! And it seems that at that time pets were allowed in the resort!

If you are at WDW this Saturday for the 45th celebration i wish you all the best for this happy day!

This reminds me that if you don't own yet the "Art of Walt Disney World" book it's a total must for any Disney fan. It includes plenty of rare WDI artwork and you can read the review i did about it HERE and also order a copy on the D&M Amazon Store HERE. No kidding, folks, it's a great book so don't miss it while there is still some copies available.

And if you are at WDW this Saturday for the 40th celebration i wish you all the best for this happy day!

How Disneyland attractions inspired parks around the world - Part One : Niglo Show at Nigloland

When Walt created Disneyland in 1955 he probably couldn't imagined that this new theme park concept was going to inspire the creation of many non-Disney parks around the world.

The concept of a central hub with 4 or 5 lands all around it was of course copied everywhere but some parks didn't hesitated to almost duplicate a Disney attraction. Of course, when it's the case, they've changed the theme, the storyline or, as we will see today the kind of animals that appears in the show to avoid the rights issue but, still, where the inspiration is coming from is too obvious to say that it's a simple "tribute" even if it is one on a certain point of view! To put it more simply, some of them totally copied a WDI attraction concept.

Today, i'm introducing the "Niglo Show" at Nigloland Park in France. Located in the Champagne region the Niglo Show was introduced in the park in 1991, one year before DLP's opening. To say that the Niglo Show is inspired by the Country Bear Jamboree is a euphemism. The "niglos" animals - symbol of the park - replaced the bears, but the principle of multi-stages with a bigger one in the center was kept, and even the deer trophy AA on the right side wall is there! Not to mention the exterior facade that you can see on the picture above also inspired by the Country Bear Jamboree building at WDW.

The show is full of audio-animatronics, of course not as perfect as the one designed by WDI because the budget was not the same, and the storyline or the music is lame in comparison to the original which is not this time a problem of budget but a lack of inspiration. However, considering that we are in France and that Nigloland is a small theme park it's not that bad.

Thanks to the video below the best is that you'll have a look by yourself as you have to see it to believe it!

Tomorrow we will see how Pirates of Caribbean inspired a similar ride in one of Europe's most visited park.
