Hong Kong Disneyland Halloween “The Nightmare Experiment” Scare House Video

For the first time, Hong Kong Disneyland created a Halloween scare house that has Disney characters in them! After a entrance scene in a steampunk decor HKDL guests step into a mind-bending world of nightmares with Dr. Facilier from Princess and the Frog, the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Mutant Toys from Toy Story.

As you'll see in the video, it looks pretty cool - if i can say - and it's a pity that DLP don't do this kind of temporary attractions for Halloween - though it seems to use a pretty big facility and apparently HKDL is using the Golden Mickeys theater show building while the new show is not there yet.

Editing: Albert Luk on Facebook let me know that the show venue is in fact installed on a temporary warehouse on the expansion pad below Grizzly Gulch.

2015 Halloween at Hong Kong Disneyland will see Adventureland, Mystic Point and Grizzly Gulch transformed in Ghost Towns!

This year, Halloween at Hong Kong Disneyland will see Adventureland, Mystic Point and Grizzly Gulch transformed in haunted Ghost Towns! More with HKDL Press release below!

Disney’s Ghost Town dares the daring to get lost Sinister spirits roam Hong Kong Disneyland in this year’s Halloween Early Bird Offer for the brave ones before September 30

(Hong Kong, September 1, 2015) Frightful fun of Disney Haunted Halloween is spanning outdoors this year, tempting the daring to lose their way in the ghostly lands of Hong Kong Disneyland where the long since dead come hauntingly alive at nightfall from 6pm to 11 pm for 14 nights, every Friday to Sunday during October 2 to 31, 2015. The Ghost Town dares even the boldest, not to lose their soul to the mesmerizing spirits at Mystic Point; get caught in the deadly battle between the deceased Cowboys and the Miners at Grizzly Gulch; or lose their way on the dark journey of the Jungle River Cruise.

The very brave should catch the Halloween Early Bird Night Ticket*of HKD349 (Original price is HK$399) for a night ticket for Disney Haunted Halloween, available on Hong Kong Disneyland Resort website from now till September 30. Guests will be able to explore the Ghost Town after 6 pm on designated dates during the Halloween period.

Don't get caught in the Mystic time-warp
Captivating spirits at Mystic Point will lure the unsuspecting into their time-warp to watch as the spirits relive one hour of their lives over and over in an unending loop of time. The Timekeeper is the link between the afterlife and the here-and-now, through his pocket watch to keep watch on all the spirits, ensuring that they all return to the portal when the time is up. Be mesmerized but do not get caught up in the quest for the green amulet that promises immortality, or get lost in the spirits quest.

Here are two videos filmed in "lost footage" mode.

Don't get between the Cowboys and the Miners
Legend has it that the Cowboys and the Miners who once populated Grizzly Gulch have returned to continue their feud. The whole township was unaware that they were poisoned and by the strange green water which emanated from the geysers and sent them all mad. At all Hallows Eve, the deceased denizens will come back to the ghostly gold-mining town to settle old scores every hour.Hear from the eccentric “Engineer” retell the story of the epic feud, through the “Ghosts Rising” Puppet show several times a night, and heed his advice: do not get lost in the middle of the relentless feud.

Beware of the forbidding cruise and on the Curse of the Emerald Trinity
In the dark hours, the Jungle River Cruise is not quite as one remembers. It will be transformed into a voyage of terror from which we hope you return! Those joining the perilous quest will have to count on the Navigator and the Skipper on board the boat to guide them through the Adventureland jungle. The quest for the voodooed emerald stones may have dire consequences. Only the Navigator can guide the explorers to safe shores, or can he?

Halloween fun with Disney friends
Guests can also put on their favorite spooky costumes and join in some trick-or-treating fun with Mickey, Minnie, Duffy, ShellieMay and other Disney friends in their Halloween outfits at Main Street, U.S.A. which is decorated for the season.

Scream for more of the wicked delicacies
Those not lost in the Ghost Town should reward themselves with more than 30 wicked Disney Halloween-themed treats, available in the park and the two themed hotels. Try “Tahitian Pumpkin Surprise Set” at Tahitian Terrace in Adventureland, or “Sticky Rice Ghost” at Mystic Point’s Explorer’s Club Restaurant, to have you howling at the moon in satisfaction.

Halloween collectibles
A range of 70 pieces of Halloween merchandise items ensure guests can find something to remember this year’s awesome experiences. Choose from three fiendish assortments – Halloween-themed Tsum Tsum Mickey Family, Nightmare before Christmas and– which include limited edition pins, plush, accessories, apparel, consumables, stationery, home décor and souvenirs.

Let the daring explore the eeriest corners of the park in the dark at this year’s Disney Haunted Halloween, where we “Dare you to get Lost in Ghost Town”!

Hong Kong Disneyland Halloween will start Sept 22 !

Get ready to “lose your head” at Hong Kong Disneyland’s Haunted Halloween as the intriguing Headless Horseman reported to be haunting the town anywhere, anytime! Now officially announced
Hong Kong Disneyland Halloween will start Sept 22 and here is the menu of this 2011 edition which will introduce the famous Headless horseman character.

(Hong Kong, August 25, 2011) Frightful fun is in full force this year at Disney’s Haunted Halloween as the Headless Horseman is on a rampage and is loose in the park, searching for the fiend who took his head. Every Thursday through Sunday night after 6:00 pm during September 22 to October 31, as well as October 4 and 31, Guests can have their choices of how they will “lose their heads” with a HK$228 night ticket at Hong Kong Disneyland.

The Dark Side of Disney has never before extended so far and wide, permeating every pathway of Hong Kong Disneyland. Morbid curiosity brings Guests to a traveling show, “Revenge of the Headless Horseman,” to visit its main exhibit – the head of the Headless Horseman. Don’t miss the prequel to the parade when the Headless Horseman rides down the street on his imposing horse, in search of both his head and revenge for the crime committed against him.

From the immortal lost souls of the townsfolk of America in 1900’s, still lifelessly roaming the pavements of “Main Street U.S.A – Ghost Town,” to the beings haunting the “Cursed Jungle” of Adventureland, haunted spirits cannot be avoided. “Tomorrowland – Party Zone” offers some great high energy games and entertainment which you and your friends are sure to enjoy.

If Guests are looking for Halloween fun the whole family can enjoy to entice giggles instead of screams, then Fantasyland is the destination for you with some great Trick or Treat fun.

“With our young adult Guests in mind, we have come up with new surprises for them to make Disney’s Haunted Halloween a must see again this year,” said Frederick Chan, Director of Marketing, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (with blue trousers, picture above). “For the first time, we will launch an attractive group-buy promotion through “Yahoo! Deals” for early Halloween celebrators to be among the first to experience Halloween. Guests can also enjoy unlimited access to our Halloween festivities every Thursday from September 22 to October 27 by buying a HK$229 Thursday Night Pass at Circle K Convenience Stores. Just HK$1 extra on top of our night ticket entitles you to every Thursday!”

“Young adults are also very digitally-savvy these days. We have spent more time to think creatively in terms of content creation, whether it is weaving in interactive elements into the in-Park experience or creating innovative marketing ideas that allow our Guests to be immersed in our Haunted Halloween story anytime, anywhere. All they need is to download the ‘Disney’s Haunted Halloween app on their iPhones, and they will be surprised by what new experiences the augmented reality (AR) technology will bring to them. And, for the first time, Guests can enjoy watching a series of six “spirited” episodes created for the Web. They can map their faces on characters inside the video simply by uploading a photo of themselves. This will enable them to get to know the Headless Horseman back story before they come to the Park,” added Chan.

Revenge of the Headless Horseman

This traveling show is set up in the heart of Adventureland, and the con artist exhibitor claims to have the head of the Headless Horseman as the main exhibit. But you are not the only one attracted to this sideshow. The Headless Horseman himself has come to claim what has been stolen from him. Angered by the con artist exhibitor and his false claims the Horseman has come to seek revenge. You want to view his head - now he wants yours. Escape before you suffer the fate of those before you.

Glow in the Park Parade featuring the Headless Horseman

Once a year when dark forces prevail, this spooky sensation glows in the dark and rocks the Park. This year there is a new villain to pave the way. Don’t miss the prequel to the parade when the Headless Horseman rides down the street. Justice will only be attained when he takes a Head for a Head. Take care it’s not yours he seeks.

Be amazed by the floats as they transform and glow right before your eyes. Join Jack Skellington and his creepy Pumpkin Men and behold the horror of Dr Finkelstein’s Lab. Scream with the Disney Villains and gasp at the shocking Red Devils with their spine-chilling acrobatics. Don’t miss the rockin’ dance moves as the Ghostly Pirate Ship creates a rousing finale.

Adventureland – Cursed Jungle

As darkness rises so do the nocturnal mythical creatures and ghoulish souls exiled for eternity and trapped for centuries in Adventureland. Black magic and ancient incantations have released the unearthly beings to once again prowl among the living and instill fear in anyone who dares trespass on their territory. Explore cautiously as it's inevitable that you will come face to face with the many new jungle inhabitants as they lie in wait around every cursed corner. Be daring and remember to capture a photo of your spirited adventures.

Tomorrowland – Party Zone

Engage in the infectious energy and array of activities at this year’s Halloween party zone. Enjoy music, roving entertainment, stage performances and interactive fun with your friends. There will be special appearances of celebrity DJ’s who will interact with Guests on selected evenings with fun-filled activities and more. A Party Squad is also on the prowl to reward those with the best dressed Halloween costumes. Guests should also drop by the Boo-tique and unleash their Halloween spirit with a spooky makeover and a spray tattoo from HK$ 250 upwards. The popular Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy will also return, with more eerie screams piercing the night air.

Main Street U.S.A. – Ghost Town

The moment you enter Main Street USA you will immediately be transported back to the 1900’s – a seemingly simpler time. The only difference is all the inhabitants of this town have been dead for hundreds of years. From nearly every doorway, ghosts of a forgotten era emerge stumbling and staggering into the street to mingle with the living.

Without warning the music will turn to a heart-throbbing beat, supernatural energy will fill the Zombies and their deadly dance begins. Be part of the chilling fun if you dare by playing along and engaging the spirits in some ghostly photo moments. When the Halloween atmosphere on the street reaches its climax, their time will be up, and the ghosts will vanish in a blink. Night time is their time so beware… they will return from the depths when you least expect it!

Main Street Haunted Hotel

Over a hundred years ago, something went terribly wrong with the hotel situated in Main Street U.S.A., and it became haunted thereafter. The reason has always remained a mystery. Only recently has it been discovered that Victoria Maxwell was taken by the dark force and her ghostly soul now roams the rooms and corridors of the hotel, hungry for new victims and eager to scare guests with new antics. So, if you seek a spine tingling experience, check into the Hotel. We hope that you’ll be able to check out.

Be sure to download the Main Street Haunted Hotel app for another unexpected ghostly encounter.

New AR technology offer to our Guests

With the young adult Guests in mind, Hong Kong Disneyland has come up with new surprises for them to make Disney's Haunted Halloween a must see again this year. All they need is to download the "Disney's Haunted Halloween app on their iPhones, and they will be surprised by what new experiences the augmented reality (AR) technology will bring to them.

Hong Kong Disneyland announces its 2010 Halloween season, starring Maleficent as "The Mistress of All Evil" !

Hong Kong Disneyland did recently its press event for the upcoming Halloween season, and as always they announced a great and creepy Halloween, the kind we would like to have at DLP instead of the pumpkin men which seems to be there forever... So, here is the HKDL Halloween program with the help of the official press release and pictures.

Each year HKDL design a new Halloween and, after last year's Alien invasion in Tomorrowland, Maleficent seems to have a special treatment this year as she will be "the Mistress of All Evil", furious that she has never been invited to Disney’s Haunted Halloween. She is planning to unleash her darkest power and throw the hottest and most unexpected Halloween party ever. From September 16th to October 31st Maleficent will enchant HKDL Guests with new frightful fun scattered across the whole park.

As darkness continues to fall and the lights begin to dim, the Dark power will transform Main Street U.S.A. into Main Street U.S.A. Ghost Town. Ghosts from a forgotten era will roam aimlessly up and down the Street, haunting all who pass by. Without warning, when the music turns to a heart-throbbing beat, thrilling lights and mist fill the air, a Ghostly Gathering is invoked from every corner. Beware of the long forgotten townsfolk, who suddenly appear in the foggy darkness!

Under the evil power of Maleficent, Adventureland will become even more treacherous as the fog-filled Tribal Burial Ground is taken at night by demented zombies, deadly explorers, bedeviled tribal warriors and gatekeepers who will greet their Guests unexpectedly. To see and be seen, Guests can treat themselves with a Halloween makeover at the all new Boo-tique. From HK$250 up, HKDL professional make-up artists will transform Guests into the most haunting yet coolest spirits of the night!

Maleficent has even set Sleeping Beauty’s Castle aflame, where the brand new “Nightmare in the Sky” Pyrotechnics Show will be staged during Disney’s Haunted Halloween. “Hong Kong Disneyland will soon be starting its 5th anniversary celebration. Starting in September 2010, we will be filling a whole year with new surprises and experiences. We will bring a new and unexpected Disney’s Haunted Halloween to Guests this year. “Nightmare In The Sky” is the first time the Park has redesigned the pyrotechnics show for a seasonal program, in which lighting, music, high-definition digital projection and pyrotechnic coalesce perfectly,” said Frederick Chan, HKDL Director of Marketing. He added, "In addition, Guests who come in September may receive a special hologram viewer at the Park Entrance to enjoy the Pyrotechnics Show in a new perspective!"

The Only Halloween Themed Pyrotechnics Show in Hong Kong – Nightmare in the Sky
Maleficent’s curse has instigated the first ever Halloween pyrotechnics show in Hong Kong Disneyland called “Nightmare in the Sky” - Pyrotechnics Show as she unleashes her spirit on Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Surrounded by her sinister laugh and ghostly music, Maleficent will conjure up her wicked magic and engulf the castle in thorns and flames, while she ignites the sky with a spooky pyrotechnics spectacular.

Jump into the Inferno Dance Party! To continue her take-over of Disney’s Haunted Halloween, Maleficent has invited some of her evil friends – Queen of Hearts from “Alice in the Wonderland” and the Hag from “Snow White” for the high-energy Inferno Dance Party where Guests can burn up the dance floor as a DJ rocks the party with a mash-up of retro chart-toppers and Halloween-themed hits.

Return of the Timeless Evil Power: Guests should be paying their utmost attention this year as Victoria Maxwell’s spirit continues to roam the Main Street Haunted Hotel, andthe ancient outpost in Adventureland is crazed with lost Adventurers in Demon Jungle.

Popular Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy will make your heart race and skin crawl in the darkness of an alternate universe and you can get into the spirit of things with the Glow in the Park Halloween Parade as it rocks along transforming before your very eyes.

Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, Chip & Dale will be dressed in their all-new spooky Halloween costumes ready to Meet & Greet all their friends. Also, the Park will launch a set of Disney Characters in their all-new Halloween Costumes available at HKDL merchandise outlets.

Alien Invasion at Hong Kong Disneyland as Halloween season began !

We were at HKDL with yesterday's article, and we are going to stay there today as HKDL Haunted Halloween began last night with the media and annual passholder preview and will end October 31st.

In Tomorrowland an alien spaceship has landed. After investigation, the “Alien Intelligence Agency” has reported that the spaceship is fraught with danger and signs of alien life forms. In the chilling interior of the spaceship, the Agents have uncovered secrets from outer space in its various dark chambers apparently used by the aliens for all kinds of sinister experiments.

The Agents have also discovered spacesuits which appear to indicate that the aliens were preparing to launch an attack. As the Agents ventured deeper into the crash site, a terrifying chamber was found containing the eggs of an unknown alien species ready to hatch at any minute. The search of the spaceship ended abruptly when the Agents were attacked by the aliens. The Alien Intelligence Agency is now recruiting daring Guests to board the spaceship and continue the investigation. Guests are advised to remain calm and watch out for alien encounters.

The baby aliens (they're cute actually) will come out from the eggs when you pass by and try to follow you, but their mother - the giant alien queen, a huge animatronic - is waiting at the exit to protect her babies and prevent they being taken by the visitors. Another one with the broken electric wires and space suits is at the entrance of Alien Invasion. According to the story of Alien Invasion, the agency couldn't find the entrance of the spaceship and decided to open it by using a bomb.

Frederick Chan director of marketing at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort declared: “This year, we set ourselves the task of creating a very unique Halloween experience using the imaginative theme of Alien Invasion as the storyline”. He added: “The Guests’ experience has been planned meticulous care along with their probable psychological response to the scary factors. There is no doubt this all-new attraction will make Guests feel like they’ve stepped into a Hollywood movie.”

Talking about movie, they've finally released the full version of the Halloween TV commercial, and it's indeed a real little movie, all in one minute!

They've also released the making-of, and it's interesting to have a look at it just to see that a 1 minute TV ad is not necessary a small production.

The dark force spreads also beyond Tomorrowland to the rest of the Park, and ghostly souls have returned to the Main Street Haunted Hotel. In Adventureland explorers have gone missing in the Demon Jungle.

They have done new scenes inside demon Jungle labyrinth, but HKDL only released pictures of this last scene where an Adventurer is attached on the wall and asked you to help her (or him) out.

Also, every night, Jack Skellington is rocking the Park with the Glow in the Park Halloween Parade. Screams are also being heard from those surrounded by ghastly ghosts and ghouls in the darkness of Space Mountain – Ghost Galaxy. Yep, the same Space Mountain – Ghost Galaxy that is coming at Disneyland this Halloween season!

Finally, specially at the intention of my HKDL fans chinese readers, here is the video of the Alien Invasion Opening last night at HKDL.
