Disneyland Paris Update : Spring Season, Indiana Jones Temple, St Patrick Day, and more...

After the big pictorial update posted last Monday about the works on the Ratatouille ride, here is the second part of the Disneyland Paris update thanks to Max Fan, D&M contributor and DLPWelcome webmaster. First, the park announced officially the Spring season event which will start April 5 and will end on June 22, one day after Summer officially begins in France but also probably a few days before the ratatouille soft-openings start, if DLP imagineers don't have any technical issues on the ride.

Here is the translation of DLP press release about the Spring Season event:

If Disneyland Paris was a garden, it would be the largest in Europe with 35,000 trees, 450,000 shrubs and more than a million flowers planted in the year. Mickey and his friends have decided to that heritage with a special theme for nearly three months, the colors of Spring. With new happenings, new scenery and the opportunity to meet Disney characters in new costumes.

Disneyland Paris turns into a "Springtime Stroll".A new daily happenings "Springtime Promenade" promises to be the event of the day. This musical event ultra-colorful, will be punctuated by more than one hundred artists including more than 90 dancers. Not to mention the Disney Characters in new costumes specially made. Mickey and Minnie, Alice and the Mad Hatter, Woody and Jessie from Toy Story, Stitch, Pinocchio, Clarabelle and many others delight the park accompanied by musicians of "Jolly Holiday Band" and "Swing into Spring Orchestra". The new generation will also be honored, including Rapunzel.

Dreamers will discover their favorite Disney heroes in more flowery than ever versions. Near the Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant topiary with images of 101 Dalmatians, Simba and Nala (The Lion King), or Aristocats, Bambi and his friends Flower and Thumper have sprung up like magic. Other emblematic places will turn into flowers theaters.

"Welcome to the Beautiful Season " at the entrance of Disneyland Park, will immerse visitors in the magic of spring with butterflies , flowers, topiary and music that will find place...

Finally , children can play budding explorers through an entertaining leaflet centered around the awakening of nature , ecology and diversity offered by Disneyland Paris .

Disneyland Paris , one of the largest gardens in Europe:
There are not only the attractions and shows in Disneyland Paris . His landscape architecture makes a huge theater scene plant spread over 2230 hectares hectares. It has more than 35,000 trees, 450,000 shrubs and more than 1 million flowers planted in the year. The whole is maintained by the 130 gardeners show who maintain vegetation site daily. Disneyland Paris is also 9 horticultural trades, arborists , irrigation of 6,000 km single pipe system in Europe, 1.5 million m² of biodiversity , without forgetting the famous houseplants that accompany visitors each day in seven themed hotels . Department teams Nature and Environment therefore play a vital role in the life of Disneyland Paris , whose mission is to go deeper into creativity.

A program for new talent:
Spring is the ideal season to participate in the Disney Performing Arts program. It allows amateur groups to perform in the professional world of Disneyland Paris , offering them the unique experience of being an artist "Disney" for a day. Four types of groups may occur: orchestra, choir and dance group parade . Visit www.disneylandparis.fr for more.

Let's move now inside the park and so far as you can see on the picture above there is nothing new - at least that we can see from the outside - on the transformation of the Main Street Photography shop. So let's move directly to the Indiana Jones and the Temple du Péril  where there is much more to see as they're currently rebuilding the whole temple in real stone, as you know, with a reopening expected for the end of May, if no delay.

A long shot of Les Pirouettes du Vieux Moulin..

The Adventureland bridge and Peter Pan' Flight are also in refurbishment...

But it's the St Patrick day event located in the back of Frontierland which was the big event of the month with Irish dancers, musicians, and free make-up as well as a meet and greet with Mickey and Minnie in Irish costumes!

Here is the video of the Sarah Clark Academy show which happened at Frontierland's Chaparral Theater.

A St Patrick's day animation also happened at Disney Village...

Let's move to the new LEGO Store nearby where there is a special promotion for the grand opening to anyone buying for at least 40€ ( see below ).

Finally, the new footbridge leading to the Panoramagique balloon is finished and soon guests will be to access to it directly from the exit of Disney Village for a stationery flight over the lake and great aerial view of the parks!

Disneyland Paris Update: Part Two : Indiana Jones Temple, Farewell to Main Street Photography, and more

Here we go for the part two of the Disneyland Paris update, always thanks to the pictures of Max Fan, D&M contributor and DLPWelcome webmaster. This time we'll have a look at what's happening in the Disneyland Park and more specifically in Adventureland where works already began to rebuild the whole temple of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril!

Also, make sure to read the article till the end as i have a great news for those of you who would like to meet someone who created Disneyland Paris 20 years ago, a great Imagineer!

But first, let's move through Main Street U.S.A with a stop at the Town Square Photography shop which soon won't be the same anymore as the shop will have its theme totally changed and will be known as Flora's Boutique. Guests already can't access the shop anymore, the last products inside have been removed and the future shop will sell products linked with the different DLP "seasons"  ( Spring, Summer, Halloween, Christmas ).

Previously, Kodak was the partner of Town Square Photography and, as you know, Kodak ended last year its partnership in all Disney theme parks. Considering that guests now shoot pictures with their digital camera or cell phones and don't use photo films anymore the park probably thought they could have a better use of the shop to increase their merchandise sales. It's a pity, though, as the shop had a fantastic theming and storyline, not to mention, dozens of old cameras and a great 1900 photographer office set by Imagineer Eddie Sotto.

We'll pay a last tribute to this great shop with the original WDI renderings and the great sign of the shop.

Let's continue our walk through the park under the grey winter sky...

A quick look at the cup of coffee to check that the smoke is always coming out of it... again, as it was for a long time in maintenance last year.

As you can see, whatever the angle you shoot the pictures the light is really terrible in that season...

And it's not any better on Central Plaza...

...in Fantasyland...

...in Discoveryland

...or in Adventureland.

However, something big is happening in Adventureland as the works to rebuild entirely in real stone most of the huge temple of Indiana Jones and Temple du Peril began and will last until May 28. It's probably the first time in Disney parks history that a whole decor will be rebuilt. The coaster track itself will remain in place but the part with the loop will be changed.

Let's move now to Disney Village where small improvements happened to the Sports Bar with a bigger TV screen replacing the old one, something that will appreciate guests who have a drink outside of the bar to watch sports events.

Just nearby the new LEGO shop had its opening delayed but it didn't stopped Max to check that products are already in place, and the opening should finally happen mid-February.

Now, here is an important info for all of you folks living in South Cal as the great Imagineer Tim Delaney, who was DLP Discoveryland show producer will be part of the next Mice Chat event happening February 8 at ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney, Anaheim!
