Shanghaî Disneyland Week-end Update !

It's time for the D&M Shanghaî Disneyland week-end update and this week, in addition to some great aerial shots we'll have a look at SDL future. I know it can seems a bit odd to talk about the future of a park which is not even officially open yet but the two first weeks of Shanghaî Disneyland are already sold out and the park will most certainly be a huge success from day one.

But, and it's a big "but", does the park has enough capacity for the dozens of thousands of guests who will rush in starting June 16? That's the big question and from what we can see of the waiting times during SDL trial days - up to 195 minutes for the Soaring ride, for instance - when the park didn't even reached its full capacity we can doubt that it will be the case when 60000 guests will be in. I think that everyone knows it, from SDL Imagineers to the folks at Shendi Group and the phase two to add new rides and attractions should come probably pretty quickly, although it always take time to build them. Thanks to pictures showing SDL backstage we'll have a look at the room available for a park expansion, not to mention the land also available in the park here and there. So, let's have a look at all this, shall we?

We'll start by some new aerial pictures shot at night over the park. Above, SDL Castle and Gardens of Imagiantion, below Treasure Cove and Adventure Isle.

Let's have a look now at another kind of aerial pictures, showing SDL backstage areas.

Now, on the two above pics the backstage area may look huge in comparison to the park, but first there is a wide angle lens effect which makes them looking bigger and the park itself being in the picture background looks of course smaller than the backstage in the foreground. So, and although there is a big part of optical effect, Shanghaî Disnyeland has plenty of room for an expansion as you'll see also on the Google Earth satellite shots below.

On the picture above showing SDL Tomrrowland the available backstage room don't seem that big - though they do have some - but behind Fantasyland and Treasure Cove - picture below - it's a whole different story as here they DO have plenty of land available.

And apparently from what a Disney fan has discover on a SDL map recently released online they apparently intend to build Expedition Everest mountain there, nothing less. If you look at the two pics below you'll see that the track in both cases ( from a SDL map and an aerial view of Animal Kingdom ride ) look exactly the same. This one should be located behind Treasure Cove and POTC fortress.

They also have some bits of land available inside the park here and there, which can be big enough for small dark rides but probably not for a big E-Ticket attraction. And of course there is the big land located between Adventure Isle Roaring Rapids and SDL Lake, supposed to be kept for a third hotel though they may change their mind and use it for a park expansion, who knows?

In addition to Expedition Everest which seems to be a done deal rumors of an Alice in Wonderland trackless ride and aMarvel super-hero coaster - probably themed or Spiderman. These must be considered as rumors until an official announcement.

See you soon for a new SDL week-end update!

Shanghaî Disneyland Week-End Update - New Spectacular HD Drone Video !

Here comes the Shanghaî Disneyland week-end update you're waiting for and we have something great today as a new HD drone video was uploaded on Youtube providing new views of the park, some on angles never seen before. As usual i did screenshots for you and, as the video was shot at sunrise, i've enhanced all pics and lighted them a bit. Definitely click on each picture to see them in larger size.

The two first pictures above and below showing Mickey Avenue and Disneytown in the background are interesting. First, you can see how short Mickey Avenue is from park entrance point - probably half the lenght of a regular Main Street so guests will be on Gardens of Imagination - SDL "Central Plaza" - pretty fast. Two, you can see clearly how close to Mickey Avenue Disneytown is - literally stick to it - and i'm curious to see how will work the visual intrusion from one to another as at least the high red building of the Walt Disney Grand theatre will be visible.

Next picture shows the castle and Gardens of Imagination as seen from the entrance to Adventure Isle.

On the two next pictures the first one shows SDL castle, Dumbo ride and TRON dome in the background, and the second one provide a view of SDL Fantasyland with Seven Dwarfs Mine Train coaster.

The next screenshot shows of course Treasure Cove, but what is interesting is these two unused big piece of lands on the left. For sure, something will be built there in the future!

The next picture shows Adventure Isle on the left but have also a look at the big backstage "avenue" area in the center.

The drone then turned in direction of SDL Tomorrowland providing a view on the land, also note the unused piece of land at the entrance of Tomorrowland.

The drone then went over this huge piece of land close to Adventure Isle Roaring Rapids and there is no doubt that they have the room there to build a whole land or a very large hotel. It's a bit curious they didn't used it from the start as when they will build something there it will be hard to avoid cranes, etc... which will be visible both from guests in the park and those who will arrive from the train station behind.

Great view of Adventure Isle and the park as seen with the drone over this big piece of unused land.

The two next pictures shows a great view of the park entrance  and the Wishing Star lake nearby. They give a pretty good idea of the distances you'll have to walk to reach the park entrance.

We'll end these screenshot series with three perfect views of SDR train station, the lake and areas nearby.

Now, i suppose that you're dying to see this new drone video so here it is below, make sure to watch it in HD 1080p!

See you soon for a new Shanghaî Disneyland update and don't forget that this week-end is the last days to enjoy the special offer on the Disneyland Paris book at 60€ only - see offer below or on the right column!

More Shanghaî Disneyland Awesomeness with a New 360° View of the Park !

The good folks who did the stunning high-res 360° view of Shanghaî Disneyland two weeks ago are back with a new 360° view, and this time the drone was positioned right over the Voyage to the Crystal Grotto boat ride, providing us a closer look at all Fantasyland rides and buildings, and more!

Here weeee go, and as usual click on each screen shot to enlarge the image.

The next picture was shot right over Voyage to the Crystal Grotto where most of the scenes are in place, though it seems to me that the Fantasia scene miss some elements..

SDL Fantasyland. The Peter Pan's Flight ride is on the top right.

Next, Seven Dwarfs Mine ride and on the left the Wnnie the Pooh area with the Winnie dark ride show building and in front the Pooh Hunny pots spin.

A closer shot of the Seven Dwarfs Mine ride which seems to don't have any changes with the Florida version.

The Frozen theatre and the Tangled tavern in the center - left and right - and a bit of Voyage to the Crystal Grotto on the bottom, with the backstage area showing the lad available for future expansion in the background.

Before moving to others lands, here is another screen capture on which you have the whole Fantasyland attractions on one shot.

On the next picture, Treasure Cove - and Adventure Isle in the background - and the Wandering Moon Teahouse on the center right. And on the second pic below the Fantasia Carousel .

And a close shot of Adventure Isle...

Another view of Fantasyland and SDL Tomorrowland in the background!

A closer view of Tomorrowland reveal that trees were added recently, adding some life to this land which needs it.

One last aerial shot with this perfect picture of the Shanghaî Disney Resort station, near Wishing Star lake, the one from where you'll probably exit when you'll go at the park.

See you soon for more Shanghaî Disneyland awesomeness and in the meantime jump to the page of this new 360° view to explore by yourself Shanghaî Disneyland Fantasyland!

New Shanghaî Disneyland Aerial Pictures !

Chinese apparently compete to shoot Shanghaî Disneyland drone videos and it probably won't stop now until park opening day. You've seen a new aerial video in the post below and here are screens shots from another one as it was not possible to embed the video posted on Weibo. The definition of this new video is not as good as the previous one and also have not totally accurate colours, though they are a bit better.  Enjoy the pics anyway!

More Shanghaî Disneyland update coming soon!
