Disneyland Paris Hotel California Grill Restaurant Transferred to the Castle Club Founders Room - And Why the Founders Room Would be a Great Place to Create a Club 33 at DLP

D&M faithful reader Robert Stallard informed me that the Disneyland Paris Hotel Inventions restaurant is in renovation until February and has been moved to the California Grill restaurant nearby. During that time the California Grill has been moved upstairs to the Castle Club Founders Room on the 3rd floor, the same room from where Robert watched the fireworks during his "Sparkling Experience" dinner last month. Guests access to the Founders Room with the Castle Club private lift. The characters dining and breakfast which normally happen at the Inventions are now happening in the California Grill where Inventions has been moved.

As you'll see on the pictures below coming from Robert it looks nice in the Founders Room and it confirms what i think since a while, i.e that the Founders room would be a great place to create a Club 33 at Disneyland Paris. DLP execs probably have thought about having a Club 33 at DLP and one of the reasons why there is no Club 33 might be because they won't find French ( or others Europeans ) willing to pay the huge amount of money which is required to be part of a Club 33. It's a pity as the Founders Room really would be perfect for a Club 33, not only it's one of the best place to watch DLP fireworks at night... but half of the theming is already there, with the old books, old style furniture, etc... It would be very easy to include additional theming which probably wouldn't cost a lot to create in the Founders room a Club 33.

First Look at Carthay Circle Theatre Private 1901

Disney released the first pictures of the inside of the exclusive 1901 club in Carthay Circle Theatre at Disney's California Adventure. Jut like the Club 33 at Disneyland "1901" will be a special lounge, in which only members of Club 33 will be authorized to enter. The name "1901" is the year Walt Disney was born and the club "will be a warm, intimate space with eclectic light fixtures, overstuffed leather chairs, and beautiful, rich touches. The lounge will be decorated with personal artwork and photographs of the animators from the early years of the Walt Disney Studios, including some with Walt Disney’s own signature".

Since years there was a long waiting list for people wishing to join the Club 33 but Disneland also announced that they will accept soon new members. just in case you wish to be a Club 33 member, i let you know that the Initiation fee - price of admission to the club - is $25000 with then annual dues of $10000! That said, having a look at the pictures above and below is free and i added some screen captures from an ABC news video, also embedded below. Don't go away as the second part of the article brings a good news for those who can't afford the Club 33 $10000 annual fee.

Always inside the Carthay Theatre will open on June 15 the Carthay Circle Restaurant, and this one will be a restaurant open to all park guests ! According to Disney "The new premier dining location will take guests back in time to opening night of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” a historic night for Walt Disney and his studio. Re-creating the excitement of that night, Carthay Circle Restaurant will immerse guests in the post-screening atmosphere – as if they are celebrating alongside Walt and Lillian Disney, themselves". The pictures below show the restaurant "still under construction but close to the way it will appear when it opens on June 15".

A private visit inside Walt Disney's private apartment and Club 33

What about having a closer look at Disneyland's most secret places?

The Club 33 and Walt Disney's private apartment are really places where only some happy few can go, and today, as i've found videos for you, you'll be able to get in!

Walt Disney's private apartment is located above the Fire Department in Disneyland's Town Square.

And here is a private walk through...

The Club 33 is located in New Orleans Square, and if you don't have your member card, no need to ring at the door!

"Station Village" posted this first video on youtube , and i let him introduce the Club 33 to you : " On a trip to New Orleans, Walt and Lillian Disney personally selected many of the furnishings that were ultimately installed in the club. Unfortunately, Walt died in Dec. 1966, several months before Club 33 would open for business.

Many of the original charms of Club 33 are gone now (Mrs. Disney's butterfly collection; concept art from Disney films; sterling silver table ware; original pen & ink drawings by Heinrich Kley; and even some of the furnighings selected by Academy Award winning set designer, Emile Kuri, have been removed over the years).

Even so, Club 33 is an historic hide-away at Disneyland; still worthy of a visit to the buffet line! And the Beef Wellington... magnifique!"

PaulNaas posted this other video , and it's a walkthrough inside the Club 33 during Christmas season!
