Michael Jackson Ranch "Neverland" Now on Sale !

Neverland, the ranch that Michael Jackson bought in 1998 will soon be on sale, so if you have $60 million - the estimated price - and you don't know what to do with them, it can be yours! But, beware, all the rides and Michael's zoo animals have been removed, so for this price you'll have the 1600 Ha and the houses built on it, but no rides!

I've found this rare video showing Michael at Neverland when it still was happy days. he's here with Macaulay Culkin apparently shortly after he did "Home Alone", as well as others kids, all having fun at Neverland.

Michael is Back, at His Best !

I don't know if you have listen to Xscape, the new album of Michael Jackson, but you should, as it is really really good, probably the best one i've heard since a looong time, and reviews are excellent. Xscape include eight never-released-before-songs and new arrangements by Timbaland, John McClain, Stargate, and Rodney Jerkins. 

There is two versions available on iTunes, one at $6.99 and the other at $16.99 which i recommend as it also include the original versions of each songs, without the new ( and excellent ) arrangements, and others special features. Listen particularly to "Love never felt so good", "Xscape", "Loving you", etc... 

"Love never felt so good" produced by Timbaland is gonna be a huge hit, believe me, and the Deluxe version include two versions of it, and even three as you'll find the original version, the new one with Timbaland arrangements and one in duet with Justin Timberlake  - see video below.

To release a new album after you've passed away is already not given to anyone, but to release an excellent one is almost a miracle.

Captain EO back this October at Disneyland Paris Discoveryland at selected dates

Good news for Michael Jackson fans as Captain EO will be back at Disneyland Paris Discoveryland at selected dates, starting October 1st. The attraction will be open every day except from Oct 3 to Oct 5, from Oct 10 to Oct 12, from Oct 17 to Oct 19 and from Oct 24 to Oct 26. Which means that it will be closed three days each week. Captain EO which was closed permanently earlier this year will also be open in November. Chances are that these four days a week only opening will last until the park has found something else to replace Captain EO, may be the Star Wars Land project that we talked about some months ago...

Anyway, this Captain EO is a good opportunity to re-post this great video interview of WDI Imagineer Rick Rothschild who was part of the team who designed the original concept. In the video Rick was of course talking about the return of the attraction at Discoveryland but also reveals that other concepts were first envisioned for a Michael Jackson attraction, back 20 years ago! While we talk about michael Jackson here is a short fun video posted today by Le Monde in which Spike Lee tells never heard before stories about Michael. Spike just finished a great documentary about MJ called "Bad 25" which will be released on TV in the U.S next November and in France early next year.

Captain EO will close forever at Disneyland Paris Discoveryland on April 2

Bad news for all Captain EO and Michael Jackson fans as Captain EO will close forever at Disneyland Paris Discoveryland on April 2. It won't be replace by a 3D movie as WDI is now keeping 3D effect for rides - Toy Story Mania or the awaited Ratatouille ride - instead than movies, which is understandable considering that 3D movies are released almost each week in normal theaters.

And, no, it won't be replace too be the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor as stand up comedy is a specialty more american than european. So, by what will it be replaced? Come back next week, and i'll tell you more in an upcoming article! In the meantime, to pay tribute to Captain EO i repost a previous article with the rare 3D comic book that was released a long time ago. So, it's time to pick up your 3D glasses as, yes, you'll be able to see Captain EO in 3D right now, on your computer screen!

Back in August 1987, almost 23 years ago, Eclipse Comics published an amazing Captain EO 3D comic book souvenir edition. As a matter of fact the comic book was published in two sizes, the normal comic book size and a big A3 size which is of course the most collectible one. In both cases the cover was Captain EO's famous artwork from Imagineer Tim Delaney. The story line is not only exactly the same than the attraction, but all text, dialogs, are the same one. All the 30 pages of drawings were done by comic book artist Tom Yeates and of course reproduce all the scenes of the 3D movie.





All what you need is a red and blue 3D glasses like the one below, whether the one you have are in cardboard or plastic. If you have some at your home, it's time to find them to enjoy the 3D article on your computer screen. And believe me, the 3D effect is great!If you want to make the reading even more enjoyable here is how to do: open a new window of your internet browser and go on Youtube to find a video of the movie. You have some good one, in two parts, HERE and HERE. Just launch part one, put the sound, and then come back to this window so when you will read the 3D comic book pages you will have the sound too! The two Youtube links are for the 3D video version but unfortunately, even with glasses, the 3D effect is not as good as in the attraction.

Michael is Back and "Immortal" at Cirque du Soleil - and in a brand new documentary, too !

Considering that Disney theme parks still have the Captain EO attraction playing and that the Cirque du Soleil shows also play permanently in two Disney resorts - at WDW and TDR - i think that this news about the new "Immortal" show designed by the Cirque du soleil in tribute to Michael Jackson finds naturally its place in D&M columns.

Let's begin by a good news: the new Immortal show will visit 60 North American cities! So, if you live in the U.S or Canada you won't have to go to Las Vegas to watch it as the show will be coming in a city near you! Once the tour will be over and if you didn't had the luck to see it then you'll have to go to Las Vegas as the show will take up residency at the Mandalay Bay Resort.

Described as "A riveting fusion of visuals, dance, music and fantasy that immerses audiences in Michael's creative world and literally turns his signature moves upside down, Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour unfolds Michael Jackson's artistry before the eyes of the audience. Aimed at lifelong fans as well as those experiencing Michael's creative genius for the first time, the show captures the essence, soul and inspiration of the King of Pop, celebrating a legacy that continues to transcend generations.

THE IMMORTAL World Tour takes place in a fantastical realm where we discover Michael's inspirational Giving Tree - the wellspring of his creativity. The show began today Oct 26 at Winnipeg, CA, and as you may be curious to see more about "Immortal", here is a video showing some of the show.




Writer-director Jamie King who also worked with Madonna, Prince, Rihanna, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, the Spice Girls and others, told Billboard.com: "Everything about this project has felt large. Being around (Jackson), he always wanted everything larger, bigger — more confetti, more pyro, more magic. He wanted fans to feel like they were getting the best experience ever, so we started with that and moved forward. With every aspect of this show we’ve pushed the envelope — costumes, music, going above and beyond what Michael was as a star and really putting it on steroids, taking it to the next level.”

The Immortal World Tour, also have 10 choreographers and a live band led by longtime Jackson keyboardist Gregg Phillinganes that will perform more than 60 songs from Jackson’s catalog — backing the late singer’s recorded vocals. “It was important to have a live band; Michael always had a live band in his show,” King notes. “You can imagine what it feels like to have people who actually played music with Michael there, playing it again.” King also said he directed musical designer Kevin Antunes to be as inventive as possible with arrangements and mash-ups and a soundtrack album from the Immortal World Tour will be released next month.

But that's not all about Michael as a brand new documentary will also be released soon. Called "Michael Jackson: The Life of an Icon" this new movie is not just another Michael Jackson movie and is the creation of MJ's friend David Gest, who produced and narrated the documentary with unprecedented access to Michael's inner family, including interviews with his mother, Katherine.

The documentary focuses on stories from the star's closest friends and family relaying public and private memories and stories from the entertainer's life including never-before-seen family photos and performance footage. The film also looks at the difficult times during Michael's life including the moment an arrest warrant was ordered and how the molestation trial impacted all their lives in 2005.

Michael's mother Katherine said, "Michael Jackson: The Life of an Icon" is a truly remarkable film that captures the true character, wit and sensitivity of my son. Producer David Gest takes you on an emotional roller coaster that will bring people to tears as well as really understand who the man behind the music was and is."

Captain EO now back at Disneyland Paris

That's it, Captain EO is back at Disneyland Paris' Discoveryland. Yesterday June 12, 2010, was the D day for all DLP and Michael Jackson's fans with the usual hysteria that we can find in those circumstances. I have pictures and videos for you below, and remember the show won't last forever, but probably at least two years.

Captain EO back at Disneyland Paris : Exclusive Interview of WDI Imagineer Rick Rothschild

Captain EO will be back at Disneyland Paris on June 12 and to celebrate this event here is an exclusive interview with WDI Imagineer Rick Rothschild! Rick, who was part of the team who designed the original concept is of course talking about the return of the attraction at Discoveryland but also reveals that other concepts were first envisioned for a Michael Jackson attraction, back 20 years ago!

I did the interview some days ago at the Cafe Fantasia located inside the Disneyland Paris Hotel at the entrance of the park and it was a beautiful sunny day. So, i've shot some new panoramic pictures and for once - as it is not usual - before you watch the intervew i'm going to show you the place where it was filmed. The Cafe Fantasia is located at the 2nd Floor, in the center, where the castle club is and the two main restaurants.

From the Cafe Fantasia you have a great view on the Fantasia Gardens located at the entrance of the park.



And on the other side of the hotel guests have a great view on Main Street USA.

Captain Eo will be back at Disneyland Paris next July !

That's it, after Disneyland, Anaheim, Captain Eo will be back at Disneyland Paris next July. Although it's not officially announced yet It's a pretty good move from the park as this will be a major news for all DLP and Michael Jackson's fans in Europe - and God knows there is here a lot of Michael's fans. Also, it will bring a "new" attraction in the park when the summer season will begin, and considering that Toy Story Playland won't open before mid-August Captain Eo's return will surely help to bring more guests in the park.

It's hard to say that Captain EO's return fits very well with the "Year of the New Generation" 2010 theme, but it surely will make happy a new generation of DLP fans who were too young 11 years ago and never saw the 3D movie.

Honey I Schrunk the Audience will close late april, so if you're a fan of this 4D movie you have only two weeks to enjoy it one last time. We don't know yet how long Captain EO will stay at Discoveryland and what will be next, so don't ask me!

Captain EO is back at Disneyland !

Yesterday was a day of incredible excitement at Disneyland as Captain EO was back at Tomorrowland! The videos selection below will give you a pretty good idea of yesterday's atmosphere at Disneyland as hundreds of Disneyland and Michael Jackson's fans were there for the re-opening and Legendary Imagineer Tony Baxter too!

Cable TVs were there to cover the event and in the first video below Tony Baxter talks about this re-opening.



The always excellent Inside the Magic also did a great interview of Tony Baxter. Tony answers of course to EO related questions but also talk about his dream to have a 3D Festival with vintage Disneyland 3D movies, and it's a very good idea!



And how was the fans excitement when gates of Tomorrowland Theater opened for the first new screening of Captain EO? Have a look at the video below to have an idea of the fans hysteria!



What did they think when they got out of the screening? Disney Parks posted yesterday a short video which will show you the "awesome" fans reactions.



Twenty-four years after its first opening on September 12, 1986, Captain Eo is back at Disneyland, and Disneyland & Michael Jackson's fans can experience again the magic created by Michael Jackson, Francis Ford Coppola and Georges Lucas. Michael, wherever you are, we salute you!

It's official, Captain Eo is coming back at Disneyland next February !

One month ago i announced to you that Captain EO was coming back for sure at Disneyland and today it's official, EO will be back at DL next February - just one month later than what i previously told you. Apparently the huge success of the excellent "This is it" documentary - 220 Milion $ worldwide in the first two weeks had some effects on the WDC. Hope that they will put it back too at Epcot and that DLP executives will also have the intelligence to put back Captain EO at Paris Magic Kingdom as "Honey I Schrunk the Audience", just like everywhere, is not popular any more.

The good news about this come back of Captain Eo is that 3D effects should be enhanced and Imagineers will probably use the "moving floor" effect from "Honey, I Schrunk the Audience" during some scenes of Captain Eo - like when his ship crashes on the planet, for instance.

Watch for Al Lutz next update on Miceage - may be later today - as i won't be surprised if Al, who was the first to reveal the comeback of Captain Eo, had more details about it. Al in one of his previous update also revealed that Disney intend to keep Captain Eo at DL during four months after what the show should be replaced by "Monsters Inc Laugh Floor" - that's the bad news part of the story - a news which has infuriated Disneyland fans as nobody seems to be a big fan of that show that opened this year at WDW Magic Kingdom. And of course it will also mean the end of 3D movies at DL Tomorrowland Theatre...
