WDW New Fantasyland Pete’s Silly Sideshow Artwork

Disney Parks has released a set of renderings for the new Pete’s Silly Sideshow at WDW New Fantasyland Storybook Circus. As they say on their blog "This new character greeting area has two entrances: One line leads to Minnie Magnifique (Minnie Mouse as a circus star) and Daisy Fortuna (Daisy Duck as a fortuneteller), while the other line leads to The Great Goofini (Goofy as a daredevil stunt pilot) and The Amazing Donaldo (Donald Duck as a snake charmer)".

So, basically, this Pete’s Silly Sideshow is a character location but the background decors look more fun than what they do for the Princesses meet and greet, so may be it will be fun. Note that not so long ago the renderings released by Disney Parks were in big size and good definition. Strangely, since a few days, all pictures and artworks are now released in small size and with a definition so low that they're not even sharp! As usual i tried to make them sharper and a little bit bigger too. Have a look at all this below!

WDW New Fantasyland : Beauty and the Beast Statue seen in DHS Backlot : Mystery Resolved

Some days ago, WDWNewsToday posted a picture shot during the backlot tour at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The picture was showing what they called a "Massive Beauty and the Beast Statue" and they were wondering if it will go in the Beauty and the Beast area in Magic Kingdom's New Fantasyland.

Well, I don't want to be disappointing but, as you can see on the picture above, this Beauty and the Beast statue is in fact coming from the same mold that was used to create the B&B statue that already exist at Hong Kong Disneyland Fantasyland Royal Banquet Hall Restaurant since 2005. It's exactly the same statue, and it's not "massive" as it is about three feet and a half high, approximately. And, yes, there is big chances that the statue will find its place in the Beauty and the Beast restaurant next year.

I've shot the picture last August and it's part of the 200 beautiful HKDL wallpapers pictures of the park that you can find in my HKDL Wallpapers HD application for iPhone - iPad that you can download on the iTunes AppStore HERE.

Imagineering Update : WDW Little Mermaid Load Area Mural Painting

Here is a new Imagineering video released by WDI showing how the Little Mermaid Imagineers did to paint the huge mural painting which will be placed at the load-unload area of the attraction, the one you can see on the rendering below.

This is not the first time that WDI Imagineers create such a giant ural painting, they did it many time before, whether it was for some of Epcot original attractions or for the Grand Canyon Diorama at DL and DLP. But this video shows how WDI Imagineers "created an experimental process using digital technology to design the mural, and then used portable tablets ( Translate: iPads ) to guide them in the artistic process when it came time to put paint on canvas".

A closer look to WDW New Fantasyland artwork reveal interesting details on upcoming attractions

As promised last week here is the new artwork for WDW New Fantasyland in high-res. Actually, i had to reduce a bit the size of the file as the weight of the one released by WDW was 35 Mb and too "heavy" to be uploaded on Photobucket. Even reduced it's still in high-res and this great artwork by Greg Pro should pleased most of you.

We must also thanks WDW to have released this file in hyper-resolution as it gives the possibility to "zoom" inside the artwork...and to discover interesting unnoticed details at first sight about the new upcoming attractions.

Of course the zooming helps to see in details some decor elements like Belle's Village...

...and Gaston's fountain that you can also see in this other rendering...

...but also to discover that Beast Castle - and the rocks around it - is designed to look partly covered by (fake) snow!

A zoom on the Circus/Dumbo area provide a closer look on the Circus land entrance...

...and show how close the two Dumbo carousels will be...

...but also reveal something interesting, i.e the Circus themed "splash" zone where young childrens will get wet with pleasure.

Even more interesting are details of the seven dwarfs mine coaster. If you look closely to the rendering, not only you'll see better the dwarfs cottage but also you can have a better idea of the coaster train design which will look like elongated seven dwarfs mine wagons.

And more zooming on the same part of the artwork reveal the shining multicolored diamonds that guests will see in the mine.

In the WDW press release from last week we could read that "The journey will be accompanied by music from the classic Disney film and animated figures of Snow White and the Dwarfs..." and may be you're wondering where will be located these animated figures? Well, the most interesting detail of this seven dwarfs mine coaster gives partly the answer with this outside scene with the seven dwarfs "coming back home", standing on a big tree trunk. The coaster train will go of course under the trunk and there is no doubt that the seven dwarfs figures will be partly animated in this scene...

...paying tribute to Snow White's memorable sequence.

But the ride might include another scene with animated seven dwarfs as we can see in this new rendering below posted on Miceage today in Kevin Yee's article and showing a scene with the dwarfs, this time inside the mine.

Your thoughts?
