Disneyland Paris World of Disney Store Video

You saw last week some pics of the new World of Disney Store to open at Disneyland Paris on July 12, and today let's have a closer look at it with this excellent video posted on Youtube by Disneyland Paris. The store will be twice as big as the current Disney Store in the Disney Village and, good news, it will have exclusive merchandise products. The two Mickey and Minnie bronze statues are in fact coming from the NY Disney Store ( i knew i had seen them somewhere! ).

DLP Update : World of Disney Store almost ready for its opening on July 12 !

It's not an attraction but for DLP it's one of the 20th anniversary big events: the opening of the big World of Disney Store, on July 12. Sure, for DLP execs, on an economy point of view the WOD opening may bring some cash in, and that's what we hope for them as DLP really needs it.

It would be difficult to find a better location for the World of Disney store: perfectly located at the exit of the Disneyland Paris or Walt Disney Studios parks as well that as at the entrance of the Disney Village area. It will be unmissable for all guests and you can bet that a majority of them will enter this new and fancy art-deco looking structure.

Thanks to my good friends from News Parcs, a great theme parks news web site that you can read in english HERE, i have some recent pictures to show you of the WOD outside and inside, as well as new concept-arts provided by DLP. Pictures were shot some days ago when the merchandise was not yet installed in the store, so its normal if the shelves are empty, but you can be sure that there will be more merchandise products than you can dream of in just two weeks from now.

Let's begin with the construction shot below, and outside views of the store.

As you may have noticed there will be two giant statues of Mickey an dMinnie at the entrance. Let's hope they will have enhanced the bronze patina before the opening...

Actually the giant dome over the entrance with Tinkerbell at the top will turn at slow speed all day long.

A large view and the concept-art of it of the inside of the store, with no products yet inside, as i told you.

A closer look to the giant balloon located at the center of the store, with Mickey and Pluto inside it.

At the entrance, another dome with a nice constellation with Disney characters flying among the stars...

...and the entrance concept-art.

More shots of the inside...

As you can see, close to the ceiling, there is some frescos showing Disney characters, designed with an art-deco style...

Here are some of the frescos visuals.

Sure, the design of the whole thing has a "fancy Disney art-deco" style but let's wait for the opening when everything will be in order, and with the good lighting to have a final and objective judgment about this new - and highly awaited by DLP fans - World of Disney Store!

Disneyland Paris Update : World of Disney, Ratatouille Ride

A short Disneyland Paris update today, thanks to DLRP Welcome who kindly sent me these new pictures of the World of Disney Store, opening July 12 at the entrance of the Disney Village area.

All are night shots and you will see a bit more of the decor inside the store as well as the illuminated dome with Tinkerbell on the top and the Mickey and Minnie statues located outside the store. The merchandise products are of course not yet in place on the shelves, but don't worry, they should arrive anytime soon!

Not so far, at the Walt Disney Studios, a second crane arrived on the Ratatouille site, which means that there is now two cranes and it should be enough to convert those who still doubt that the ride will be built, even if there has been no official announcement yet.

That said, some fans are really talented and specially Johan who created what we can consider as "the first non-official Ratatouille ride teaser", as you will see below. Very well done, specially considering that it was not done with a Disney budget! Congrats, Johan!

DLP Update : World of Disney Super Store and France 14th Apple Store to open at Disneyland Paris !

The awaited World of Disney super store located at the entrance of Disney Village will open normally July 12 and most of the exterior is now finished. The giant dome is now in place as well as Tinkerbell on the top of it, and outside two statues of Mickey and Minnie were added recently as you will see on the pictures below from Moueeto and DLRP Welcome. Above, a new concept-art showing the upcoming store.

When World of Disney will be open the plans are to closed the current Disney Store inside Disney Village and the whole shops of DLP dining and entertainment area should change and receive a new theme.

In these times of Apple hype, the opening of a new Apple Store is always a big event and, although it's not officially announced yet, Mac Generation, the best and more reliable non-official french Apple news blog has confirmed that the 14th Apple Store to open in France will open at Disneyland Paris.

Relax, it won't open IN the park but at the Val D'Europe shopping mall located at 2 km from the park and part of the DLP "area". Very nice mall, by the way, probably even the best in France and from what i've been told in the past it seems that DLPI Imagineers gave some help for its design. Actually the team who was in charge of its design may be the same one who did the Celebration town in Florida. The place is not only a cool place to do some shopping but is also very popular, so popular in fact that there is going to be an expansion of the mall.

Edited: Thanks to a D&M reader we know more about this upcoming Apple Store location: "The Apple Store will be located in the existing part of the mall. "La Chaise Longue" boutique and GAP has both closed. GAP will be refurbished and downsized as it was really huge. The Apple Store will be taking the space left by "La Chaise Longue" and a part of the GAP store". I've found for you the map of the mall and succeeded to find where exactly will be located the Apple Store. On the map below ( click on it to see it in bigger size ) the GAP and Chaise Longue shops were located at number 83 and 24 on the top right, where i've put the Apple logo. Actually, the store will be extremely close to the FNAC shop ( very famous stores in France selling books, music, dvds and electronics products ) and the popular Vallée Village, so it couldn't be better located - except for the FNAC store, of course, who will see the opening of an Apple Store at 20 meters from them as a threat for their Apple sales - and they're right!

Below, a picture shot recently and posted on the DCP Forum Facebook page and showing the two closed shops currently at works for the Apple Store.

Although this is not really a Disney news, it's a good news for the park as all the Apple Store in the world always brings a lot of customers. It's true that when you just bought a new iMac your first thought is to go back your home to enjoy it and not to go to Disneyland, but still, with all the Apple hype at each new products it won't hurt the park to have an Apple Store nearby! Don't ask me the opening date as i don't know it, and probably none knows for sure, but it might take some months before its gates will open for the frenzy of Apple fans!

Disneyland Paris Update - Part Two

Here is the part two of my Disneyland Paris update. You'll find the part one is below or HERE. And thanks to D&M readers i have new infos: first, the dragon cavern which was closed last week is now reopen and apparently it's a wonder. Happy to know about this. Then, he works in front of Casey's Corner are apparently not a refurbishment but more in preparation of the upcoming 20th anniversary nighttime show "Dreams". Someone else told me that "a brand new building with a victorian style has been erected and from what I could see from above the plywood barriers it is really well done (lots of details, etc.)". This building is also here because of the upcoming show "Dreams!".

Let's move today to Adventureland where the Captain Hook ship is currently being rebuilt. It's not even a refurbishment as the former ship was in such bad condition that they had no other choice to find back the original blueprints and rebuid a brand new one, at least for a big part of it. However, as the works take quite a long time they had what i think is a very good idea to put some canvas with the shadows of Peter Pan characters, the pirates, as well as the ship shadow on it.

Near Swiss Robinson Tree we also can see fences. As i'm not currently in Paris does anyone know what is happening behind them? Simple refurbishment or something else?

Fantasyland is just next door so let's move to it and what was once the Fantasyland Festival Stage is also covered, but here for a totally different reason as they are currently transforming the place in what will be the Meet Mickey area next year. Another thing new for the 20th anniversary as i've told you previously.

Just like previous christmas seasons the christmas village located near the old mill is back this year.

Not that far is also the new Princess Pavilion. Well, as a matter of fact the Princess Pavilion doesn't even exist "officially" as the park hasn't done yet any marketing on it, mostly because they "keep" it for the 20th anniversary as a "new" attraction. I already did an update on it but on these new pictures i am surprised by the look of the doors. I thought they were painted or "aged" to look old and they look a bit old, but not that old. May be i'm wrong, but if by chance anyone knows why the doors have this look, please let me know.

Last week the waiting time was 45 minutes...

The friend who shot the pictures had a short look inside but didn't wait till the end so we have pictures only showing the beginning of the inside decor.

Let's end with just a few pictures of the christmas decor at the Walt Disney Studios, a nice sunset pic of the giant Buzz Lightyear at the entrance of Toy Story Playland, and two night pictures of the small christmas village inside Disney Village.

See you soon for a new DLP update!
