Legendary Actor Mickey Rooney Dies at 93

Legendary actor Mickey Rooney died yesterday at 93. He was born in 1920 and started to play in movies in 1926 at 6 years old...and since never stopped playing as he was still playing in a movie when he died. Not only he played in 340 movies ( unbelievable! ) but he's been through, literally, all Hollywood history from the Golden Era to modern days. He played too in Disney movies ( Pete the Dragon is the most famous ) and - believe it or not - he voiced Oswald the Rabbit in the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoons in 1929!

On the picture below Mickey arrives at the Grand Opening of Disney California Adventure on February 7, 2001.

The "concentrate of energy" Mickey Rooney put in his roles was unbelievable. Below, a great musical sequence from Babes on Broadway ( 1941 ) directed by genius musicals director Busby Berkeley in which he played with Judy Garland - Mickey appear at 25 sec.

One more thing: although he was short - 5 ft 2 in (1.57 m) - it didn't stopped him to marry at 21 with legendary actress and most beautiful woman in Hollywood at that time, Ava Gardner who was 19! Lucky man!

It's Sunday, so we'll talk a bit about movies and here is a new and fantastic "extended look" HD trailer of the new Godzilla has been released and so far it's the best of all ( and the previous ones were already excellent ) so don't miss it! By the way the actress at the start, in the atomic plant, is the excellent french actress Juliette Binoche, rarely seen in blockbuster movies...

Garner Holt Wins A LifeTime Achievement THEA Award

Garner Holt - the great Audio-Animatronics wizard who produced so many AAs for Disney Theme Parks ( Jack Skellington AA, The Fantasmic Dragon, Little Mermaid ride AAs, and recently HKDL Mystic Manor Audio-Animatronics figures ) as well as others parks around the world is the recipient of a THEA LifeTime Achievement Award, probably the highest award in the theme parks business.

Disneyland Paris WDS Ratatouille Update

Here we go for a new update on the WDS Ratatouille ride with the latest pictures from Max Fan, D&M contributor and DLPWelcome webmaster. Theming on the facades is almost totally finished and rumors keep saying that soft openings for annual pass holders are expected for the last week of JUne although noting yet has been officially announced.

This Ratatouille mini-land will have a merchandise shop called "Chez Marianne" - the building on the left on the picture below - and recently new lights have been fixed on the walls outside as well as fresh painting on the facade.

On the picture below, the Gusteau's sign structure shot from Toy Story Playland. Trees have been added too to hide the Toy Story Playland building nearby.

The awaited fountain is currently being installed!

No new painting since last week to be noticed on the facades buildings of the right side of the plaza.

Close to the "Chez Remy" restaurant, a new outside lamp appeared and the "Chez Remy" sign has been wrapped for protection...

But on this facade the lamps are not yet installed and will be probably anytime soon.

Trees have been installed near the entrance of the attraction, but the awaited attraction sign was not in place yet when Max shot the pictures.

The Pirate Fairy Now Available in Blu-Ray or on U.S iTunes Store !

The Pirate Fairy, the new 3D animated film with Tinkerbell and her fairies friends with a young Captain Hook and action happening in Neverland is released today in theaters in France and in direct video release in the U.S. But if you have a U.S  iTunes account you can rent or buy the movie directly on iTunes where it is already available!
